Re: 2008 NFL Watching The Scoreboard Thread

My thoughts for this week's games so far...

-The Falcons won't make the playoffs this year, but they are on the right track. A few good personnel decisions over the next few years and they'll be a contender.

-Buffalo and Cleveland will both be hot and cold this year in my opinion. One of the two will get a playoff spot, but which one is yet to be seen.

-Seattle will still probably win the NFC West, but they are in serious trouble, and I can't see them making a run in the playoffs with the amount of injuries they currently have.

-If Tom Brady is indeed done for the year, the AFC East is the Jets to take.

-Carolina, New Orleans and possibly Tampa Bay will be in a dogfight for their division this year.

-And finally, Dallas and Philadelphia both look very, very good.

I think that's a little premature. Atlanta's running game looked awesome, but Detroit was ranked dead last in total defense last year so they can make anyone look good.

Well, what I mean to say is they're on the right track. They are still a long ways away from being a good team, but they have a good RB, and what looks like a good QB, and that always helps.

And a safety makes it 12-6 Bears.

Just got home from a Charger bar in Manhattan!! Who knew?

Awful loss for my Bolts, but they were losing most of the game anyway. They really didn't deserve to win it.

I met a whole bar-ful of Charger fans though. It was a fun & crazy time. It will be a blast to watch most of the games with them.

    Many games left.

    Kyle Orton =

Peyton isn't healthy. But the Bears defense looks dominant.

I can't believe that Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago and Carolina all won today.

Meh, as someone from Seattle I'd tell you having a shiny new stadium pretty much means nothing.

We've got Hec Ed, Safeco Field, Qwest Field, Husky Stadium (even though it's crap now) and Key Arena, but only one good team. And if today's performance was any indication that one team might not be good for much longer.

Re: 2008 NFL Watching The Scoreboard Thread

    Bears fan here...

Still not convinced by the OL, QB play or WR's, everything else looked great.

Forte had a great game, has the look of a fine young every-down back.

Defense looked dominant (circa 05-06, 06-07).

    Nice start.

Went to Safeco Field last year for a tour. Very nice ballpark.

I want to see Qwest Field though.

The NFC West is weak...again. Seattle is the clear favorite to win it again. The Arizona Cardinals still not looking good, one of the SF Bay Area teams, the San Francisco 49ers don't have enough quality playmakers on offense, and the St. Louis Rams don't have a defense.

The NFC South and NFC East will be dog fighting divisions for NFC Playoff Berths.

I agree with the AFC part.

7-3 Packers...I'm really torn on who to root for this game. On one hand, I want the Packers to lose because of how they treated Favre. On the other hand, I want the Packers to win because of all the mess that Rodgers had to deal with.

How they treated Favre? Brett Favre made the entire summer about him, despite what he told the Packers over and over. What did they do to him?
