If a pitcher is throwing a perfect game and the 24th batter lines out to the pitcher and the out is recorded. After the play the pitcher is taken out due to a sprained finger due to his last catch. Say a reliever comes in and finishes it off. it is still a perfect game, but who is crediting with the perfect game?
Yeah, it's still a perfect game, just a combined perfect game... you know, like teams have pitched combined no-hitters... it goes down in the books as a PG, and that the first guy, who pitched more than 5 innings gets the win; but how they record that on the list is beyond me... both names, perhaps?
