I STILL support A-Rod

My prediction for Javier Jazquez in 2010: 12-10, 4.84
I will gladly eat my words if I am way off.

the question is trivially true since the if part of the implication will not be satisfied

I'd rather see Igawa than Pavano

Isn't he scheduled to start rehab starts in the minors in like late July? And TJ guys get their control back like another 6 months after that? And Pavano fulfills every injury recovery worst case scenario anyway? I don't think this is even possible

Absolutely not, and I sincerely hope Hank doesn't even think about it.

Put down the kool-aid.
First of all, he won't come back and pitch well. Second, if he comes back at all, he wouldn't go more than 20 innings before the next season ending injury.

Of course. Why would anyone here say no?
It's obvious that he's not going to come back or pitch well, but if he were to come back in August and pitch us to the playoffs and then come back on a 1 year deal, how could we resist? Asshole or not, good pitching is good pitching.
its a pipedream anyway
I think the fear is that he wouldn't come back on a 1-year deal, that Hank the Bank would get soppy and swoony over those 2 good months and give him a 3-year deal or something, at which point the injury merry-go-round would start again.Originally Posted by Skars

I wouldnt re-sign him but Id be pretty happy if he comes back and pitches well.

yeah sure . Yankees should sign him to a 4 years $40 million deal .

I think there's a better chance of Kei Igawa signing a 10 year 300 million dollar extension to hit cleanup for us.![]()

When looking at the Pavano situation I think this saying fits perfectly:
"Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."
So that's a no from me.
Yes. Excellent. I want Igawa to be on the next plane back to his native land. He can keep the money, and I wish him well.Originally Posted by hellonewman

I would much rather keep Igawa than see "not sure of an appropriate name here" stay in the Pinstripes.

Since he fired an agent for not getting him $40 million (he got 39.95 instead), if he comes back and pitches well, the best we should offer is the $5,000 his former agent robbed him of the first time around.![]()

And, per the poll choices, it is worth pointing out that Batman continues to fight crime despite numerous injuries. In other words, Batman is the anti-Pavano. It would be like trading a weasel for a warrior.
The one time Batman had a near-fatal injury in 1994, he rehabbed and got back into his own monthly comic book within months. Pavano hurt his butt in March and sat out four years.

But I have a question
If (a big if) He come back this season and pitches extremely well for us down the stretch. Could he become a Type A free agent?
