Have you ever attended a no-hitter?

Watching Gavin Floyd flirting with a no-no yet giving up an unearned run reminded me of the only no hitter I've witnessed live: AJ Burnett's 9 walk, 7 strikeout no-no vs the Padres.

    http://www.baseball-almanac.com/box-...d=200105120SDN

Even though it was against the home team, Padre fans were cheering with each out of the 9th inning.

Anyone else seen one? Perhaps even a perfecto?

Re: Have you ever attended a no-hitter?

I went to the game the day before both Wells and Cone's perfect games. Closest I came was, I believe in 1999, Ramiro Mendoza was perfect for 6 2/3 innings vs. Kansas City.

    Man, that really shouldn't count.

    Never seen one live.

I was at that ALCS game 1 in 2004 where Moose was perfect for what was it? 6 innings?

    That's the closest I've been.

Yup. I was there on 07/04/83 for Dave Righetti's 4-0 no hitter against the RS, on George Steinbrenner's b'day no less. It just doesn't get any better than that.

Closest I came was David Wells in 98. Few starts after his perfect game, he was perfect again through like 7 2/3.

I went to Tom Glavine's 1 hitter against The Rockies at Shea. He had it until two outs in the eight inning, where a catchable ball went over Shane Spencer's head.

I saw him pitch the other day, and he seems to have changed his pitching style somewhat. He wasn't raising his leg as much as he used to during the windup.

I've been close a couple times

9/2/01: NYY @ BOS, Mussina's gets broken up with 2 outs in the 9th by Carl Everett. David Cone was also amazing.

4/11/07: SEA @ BOS, Felix Hernandez's gets broken up by J.D. Drew leading off the bottom of the 8th.

I just had to see Clay Buchholz pitch at Fenway so I went to his debut against the Angels. If only I waited until his second start...

I saw a high school teammate throw one. Does that count? The game was crazy- there were a bunch of errors and he walked in a couple runs, but no hits.

Was at this one also....plus I saw Baltimore's Daniel Cabrerra beat us 9/28/06. Cano broke up a no hitter in the 7th inning. The Yankees got one run in that game by Abreu reaching base on an error...then to second on a passed ball, then to third on a passed ball...then Abreu scored when Sheffield reached base on an error. Very strange game. They got one run...totally unearned.

I am in the Baseball Hall of Fame because of Dwight Gooden. I donated my ticket to the Hall of Fame . I went to Cooperstown in 97. They had a display of balls and tickets from recent no hitters. There was no ticket stub from the Gooden game. I save my stubs and asked the Hall if they needed it. They did and gave me a lifetime pass to the HOFand I nice certificate of donation. I also donated the ticket from the ALDS game when the Yankees hit back to back to back homers.

Being on the Sunday Plan I also was fortunate to have to seen both the Wells and Cone perfect games.

Not a MLB no-no. I was working an NCAA softball game over a month ago, and there it was.

I was at the game when 6 Astros no-hit the Yankees a few years ago. Unfortunately, that's the only no-hitter I've seen.

I saw Jamey Wright (Brewers/Rockies) pitch a no-no for 7 in a AA playoff game, but he was lifted, having walked 7 or 8. Bullpen blew the no-hitter.

Charlie Lea -Montreal Expos vs. S.F.Giants early 80`s in the second game of a double header.

David Palmer -Expos in a 5 inning rain-out . MLB then stripped him of his no-hitter years later saying that it must be a 9 inning game to be recognized.

    So hey....guess that`s special.

Also saw Pete Rose get his 4,000th hit on Opening Day for the Expos Still in therapy over that signing.

I was at David Cone's and will never forget it - I spent several innings trying to get my whole section to shut up about it because you're not supposed to mention it while it's happening.

Also, I remember a woman who also had Sunday tickets and who said her little daughter was six and had already been to two perfect games (1999 was the first year we had the tickets, so we missed Wells).

    Wow, that's pretty awesome!

I've never attended one and I have only seen the conclusion of one on TV twice (Buchholz and Verlander last year), but I have seen a perfect game or no-hitter get broken up in the 9th while watching on TV 5 or 6 times. (including Mussina's gem in 2001).

I've never even see a Yankee get close. A few innings at the most. I did, however, see Barry Zito throw 7 2/3 (I think) of no-hit ball against Texas at a game out in Oakland while I was on vacation. I also saw Lowe pitch a CG 2-hitter for LA.

A week ago, I went to a 5 inning no-hitter (it was a mercy game since our team scored like, 14 by then) by the Junior Varsity pitcher of our school. That's the closest I can get

Nope. I've never even been close to attending one. The least amount of hits I've seen in a game was probably 4.
