First time in a while I don't have one specific player that I want the Jets to draft. But at least I won't be disappointed, which usually happens with them.
I'm really hope they get McFadden. The Queens ties the franchise has from their days at Shea Stadium connects perfectly to the original Run DMC (from Hollis, Queens). Pairing that with the new Run DMc (wearing #23 or 32) is a public relations bonanza waiting to happen.Originally Posted by AMYanks

My roommates and I were absolute draft geeks and got the brilliant idea (in the middle of a long night of drinking) that no one could go to bed until his team selected. The fan of the then-defending champion Cowboys had a REALLY difficult night, morning and afternoon.
In addition, the NFL Draft is the only occasion I have used to call in sick to work when I or a family member wasn't truly sick.
Don't tease me, you know what I do for a living.
The draft coverage starts 8PM UK time
And it's here.
I am hoping that the Giants can pick up a good defensive player at 31; and right now I am probably hoping for Kenny Phillips most of all.
Apparently one of the rumors making the rounds is New England trading up to #5 to get Gholston before the Jets can.

I say we stomp him! Then we tattoo him! Then we hang him! And then we kill him!
I say we let him go.
Please let Matt Ryan go to a team that I don't hate.
ESPN is saying that Chris Long is going #2 to St. Louis.

I hate that it's at 3 PM now. And I have to leave for an early dinner at like 5:30 so I won't even get to see the whole first round.![]()
Yeah, why did the NFL push back the time? West Coast ratings?Originally Posted by JeffWeaverFan

Im really not sure. They have dramatically shortned how long the first day will take though, so the coverage will probably end at the same time as well (today will only have the first 2 rounds instead of the typical 3, you get 10 minutes to pick in the first instead of the typical 15 and 7 minutes in the second instead of the typical 10).Originally Posted by fredgmuggs

6. Jets- Matt Ryan, Gholston or McFadden
My guess is:
3. Dorsey
4. Gholston
5. Albert
6. McFadden
7. Ellis
8. Ryan
9. Rivers
10. Rodgers-Cromartie
I can't believe the Dolphins are taking an offensive lineman with the #1 overall pick. I mean normally I could believe it, but Tuna had my expectations up this year. I have to believe a Jason Taylor trade is in the works.
Never left the Betances bandwagon.
Unbelievably they did not. It was an unfortunate mistake on their part.Originally Posted by JDPNYY

Should be a fun draft after the first 2 picks today.Personally I hope McFadden falls to the Jets.

I just posted this in the Jets thread, but I'm REALLLLY hoping the Jets get McFadden (Run DMc) just so that we can start calling Thomas Jones "Jam Master Jay".Originally Posted by keg411

ESPN is reporting that their sources are saying Atlanta will take Ryan at 3 and Oakland will take McFadden at 4.
However, if Dorsey is still on the board I wouldn't be surprised if Oakland took him and they could be bluffing to ESPN trying to make a trade happen.
So by the time the Steelers pick, it will be dark outside?
Probably that, plus the fact that by starting it at 3 a lot more of the first round will be in prime time (and earlier picks).Originally Posted by fredgmuggs

Wow, it sounds like Baltimore is putting a huge offer together to try and move up to #2 in the draft, which would comletely shake up the first 8 picks.
My dad heard something yesterday saying that the Dolphins are planning to take their full ten minutes.![]()

They'd be stupid not to. It would certainly make a better statement of returning to the past than hiring Art Shell to coach.Originally Posted by NYYFAN

Interesting thought from Werder about Dallas trading the 28 to Arizona for Anquan Boldin. It's a win-win. Dallas obviously gets one of the 10 best receivers in The League, and Arizona gets some ammo to try and move up and make a run at Run DMc -- that would be an excellent tandem with Edge.
This isn't in HD? Bah.

The Dolphins didn't take all their time. Hooray.
Shockingly, Jake Long goes to the Dolphins at #1 overall.
St. Louis is on the clock.

Nothing quite beats today for me -- I just got back from BC's spring football game to see the NFL Draft on TV.
Now they're saying Matt Ryan to Atlanta. I wouldn't wish that on anyone, let alone our star player.
Looks like Suzy just officially let the cat out of the bag.
Sounds like the Rams are going Long.
The St. Louis Rams select Chris Long, DE, Virginia, with the #2 pick.

Here's St. Louis... And they select Chris Long, DE, Virginia. Not a surprise at all. Now things start to get at least a little interesting.
St.Louis is a great place for Long.

And the Long-Long 1-2 pick is complete. Strange that he hadn't received the call when the clock stopped.Originally Posted by OxDiesel

Interesting to see whether the Falcons will go Ryan or Dorsey.
Or, trade down with the team that wants one of them. (or McFadden)
ENOUGH with Michael Vick already...
Guess that picture and that smile answer that question.
Ryan to the Falcons.
Looks like Matt's going to Atlanta. Bleh, I wanted him out of the NFC.
The Falcons will take Matt Ryan, QB, Boston College with the #3 pick.

LOVING the faster pace of the 1st Round.
Interesting to see what the Raiders will do now.
What they SHOULD do and what they WILL do are probably two different things...
The Raidahhhs are on the clock.

This couldn't have played out more perfectly for the Jets.
Here's hoping the Raiders do the right thing for their franchise and take Dorsey so that Run DMc & Jam Master Jay will do 8 shows in North Jersey.
ain't that always the truth!Originally Posted by OxDiesel
