Fun Trivia contest

I used to play this on another site I post at...thought it might be fun to start here.

Basically, you register then answer 10 questions in different categories every day.

Our Category Schedule:
Sunday: General Knowledge 3 : Average
Monday: History 2 : Intermediate
Tuesday: Music 2 : Intermediate
Wednesday: Movies 2 : Intermediate
Thursday: Sports : Baseball : Difficult
Friday: Science & Technology 2 : Intermediate
Saturday: Yankees

What can you win? Nothing but bragging rights here.

People do not get the same exact questions every day (to eliminate cheating by having someone register with multiple IDs) but over time everyone gets the same questions.

The categories could be changed if needed. "Yankees" is a custom category, and you can only have one custom category.

The scoring system...

1000 points
- 100 per wrong answer
- time in second

So...

1000 - 300 = 700 - 81 seconds = 619

Then it ranks you based on that number...easier to see when more people play...

I got 9 out of 10 right in 157 seconds. I didn't realize time had anything to do with it so I took my time. I won't do that next time. The one I got incorrect my first inclination was the correct answer but I thought about it too long and changed to an incorrect one. Not good to think too much I guess! They gave me a score of 743.

BTW, I didn't use the same screen name I use here. I used "triviabuff". I wonder if I can change the name now or if it is too late?

For the standard categories (that is Sunday through Friday) I pick the categories and the rating (Easy through Most Difficult). For the Custom category (Saturday's Yankees questions) I pick the topics (see earlier post) and the computer picks questions from those topics.

But I don't see the questions until I log in and play.
