maybe there should be a separate section...like the Hot Stove...for official performance threads. That way we can just talk about the important stuff, like how O'Neill is a god and Hawkins is the son of all evil.

It is slightly ridiculous but it does keep people from starting up pointless new threads....

One mans "pointless" is another mans "point".

To me "the official performance threads" are pretty boring

I would prefer a wild west anything goes allowance with good moderating.

The official threads suck, and I don't want to sift through 40 pages for new line of talk. It's killing the board.

I don't think it kills the board at all.

If something worthy of a new post is worthy of a new post, then start a new post, but if it's just general discussion about one thing or talk about game to game performance about one player, it makes sense on a board like this to have one place for it.

Poor Ian's boring though, so we don't obsess over him like we do Phil or Joba and he fell to the fourth page.

I just think there should be one "Player Performance Thread." Most of the time talking about one player naturally leads to talking about another, and all sorts of tangents get sprung. Information and conversation would be more condensed.

Then you'd have 3-4 different discussions for each of 25 players going on in one thread.

Trying to follow 150 different topics in one linear thread would be impossible

We still need the "shroud official performance thread" I think it was very clutch of me to catch that falling nacho chip in the 8th inning last night, showed cat like reflexes... Not to mention the speed I showed going to get another drink in between innings without missing a pitch.

I agree. I guess its where some people just boost their post numbers.

I do appreciate them however; if we didn't have them, the number of threads would be exponential.

Although when new news is put into the performance threads it makes it hard to keep up with them.

I rather have a performance thread for each player rather than having 99 threads for each player.

Exactly. If someone can come up with a solution as to how we can get rid of the Official Performance threads but not have a million threads started for every single thought about every single player I'm all for it. But thus far no one has really been able to come up with anything that's workable. Having to weed through threads started about every single play a player makes or every idea that someone has is just as unreadable as trying to go through every page in a mega-thread.

Good work, YanksFan1992. I'm sure there will be an "Official Injuries Thread" soon too, and that should be added to the list. I was surprised no one started one today when Giambi had to leave the game early.
