What a HUGE shot by Jackson for San Diego! I thought they were done and going to lose since they can't make free throws. That was HUGE!

San Diego against Western Kentucky. Wow.
Well I know I'm the first idiot to lose a Final Four team.![]()

UConn has become a big-time choking team in big games.
Quarterfinals of 2006 Big East Tournament: Lose to Syracuse
Elite Eight of 2006 NCAA Tournament: Lose to George Mason
Quarterfinals of 2008 Big East Tournament: Lose to West Virginia
1st round of 2008 NCAA Tournament: Lose to San Diego

well, not very many teams can lose an all american and best player to injury early in the first half and make it that far.Originally Posted by MassNYYfan

This was my first sweet 16 team to lose, but it was still a great game.
No doubt.Originally Posted by trapper700

Now I really need Dook to lose with all the people who have them going to the E8/F4

Actually the San Diego win takes the people who picked Drake to make it to the Sweet 16 off the hook. If UConn would have won that game against SD, most of us that picked Western Kentucky over Drake probably had UConn defeating WKU in the next round (which most likely would have happened). Now it is WKU vs. SD, and unless you had one of those teams moving on to the Sweet 16, there will be no points to gain for anybody. This also clears the field for UCLA all the way to the Elite 8, assuming that they get past my BELOVED Texas A&M, of course.

doesn't hurt my main bracket too much, since i had uconn losing in the 2nd round against drake anyway. i just wanted us to not suck this early.Originally Posted by Cattledog

I've already lost 2 Sweet 16 teams (UConn and USC).
... how anyone could take uconn to get to the final four is waaay beyond me...

we weren't that bad. i honestly think we could've made it to the final four if we had price and if the chemistry of the team wasn't ruined by dyson's return. i'm not really surprised by the turnaround (from very good to very unreliable) my school made as soon as he came back.Originally Posted by Espinosa's Glasses

Yeah I had Drake beating UConn and going to the Sweet 16....so this UConn loss def makes things a bit better for me.Originally Posted by Cattledog

Some guy in class behind me on Tuesday said he had UConn in the national championship game. I'm guessing he tore his bracket up already.Originally Posted by Espinosa's Glasses

By the way, I'm in Hartford, and why am I getting a #1-#16 game between The Mount and North Carolina? I don't want to see a 50 point blowout! Show me St. Joe's-Oklahoma!![]()

Siena plays Vandy at 730. Everyone should watch out for Siena.....they can definitely hang with Vandy. Tampa could be upset central this weekend.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Villanova and Siena get wins tonight.

Prediction: North Carolina, unlike Duke, will not be losing by one in the final minute of this game tonight.
Although they're up only 15-12 on The Mount.

Besides, I already have a bracket in with all the #1s advancing like everyone else in the damn office pool. Nobody has anyone but a #1 as the champion. So - I went out on a few limbs in my personal bracket. Blew up in my face. Oh well.
PS - I wanna see Carolina. I'll take some look-ins at St. Joes/Okla though.![]()

Go Mount! (They will lose but I hope they keep it close)
New York Yankees: 27 Time World Series Champions!

Let's go Siena!

Tay Fisher hit seven 3-pointers in the MAAC chamionship. He's 3-3 already and Siena leads by 13.
Siena's got Vandy doubled up. Damn.

Carolina's obviously decided they are just gonna go ahead and put up a hundred today to win this one.
Hope they get the "all offense - what's defense?" game out of their system for the rest of the tournament.
Wouldn't mind 120 for tonight, though, as long as they freakin' win.

My Siena upset pick is looking good so far.....senior-laden team with good guard play that can really catch fire shooting 3's.
Lets see if they can keep it up

Siena up 13......looking good so far! They just better hope that Shan Foster doesn't catch fire.
College sports .... I could never get into 'em
"When white belts want to learn jiu jitsu they go to a black belt. When black belts want to learn jiu jitsu they go to John Danaher."

They actually only have 1 senior on their team and it's Tay Fisher.......who is 3-3 from 3-point range so far. Siena starts two juniors and 3 sophmores.Originally Posted by dabomb2045

Kenny Hasbrouck is a senior....is he coming off the bench these days? This kid always seems to come up huge in big games. I go to alot of Marist games so I follow the MAAC closely--he has often torched Marist. He hit big shot after big shot against Loyola in the MAAC semis this year.Originally Posted by Martini6196

Dude, Kenny Hasbrouck is a junior. Siena only has 1 senior and it's Tay Fisher. Siena starts 3 sophmores (Ubiles, Franklin, Moore) and 2 juniors (Hasbrouck and Duell). Fisher comes off the bench.Originally Posted by dabomb2045

That alley-oop was sick!
Wow I can't believe San Diego won. I had to stop watching the game for track practice with 4.5 seconds left in OT and I definitely thought the game was over at that point...
By rooting for KU and the underdog I seem to be doing moderately okay so far. Although I have missed quite a few first round games so far, 14 of my 16 Sweet 16 teams are still alive.![]()
UCLA could have the easiest bracket in a long time as their road to the Final Four will be:
Round 1: Mississippi Valley State
Round 2: Texas A&M
Round 3: A 12 or 13 seed
Round 4: Xavier/Duke/Purdue/West Virginia (Although that may seem tough just remember that the other 2 seeds are Georgetown, Tennessee and Texas and the other 3 seeds are Stanford, Wisconsin and Louisville)
He speaks the truth. Fisher is the only senior, and he's not a starter. The team should do very well next year.Originally Posted by Martini6196

Whats funny is that alot of people around the country who dont know a thing about Siena are probably in shock right now.....but seeing them play as much as I do and knowing the MAAC is a very underrated league (at least IMO anyways)....this isnt surprising me one bitOriginally Posted by Martini6196
