Wow, Arizona had a layup to cut it to 3 but they couldn't convert.

If these scores hold up, I'm looking at a 15-1 day here.
12-4 for me.Originally Posted by BonusCantos

I am still hoping that Arizona can come back and give me a 13-3 day and keep all of my Sweet 16 Teams alive.
HUGEEEEE 3 for Arizona and they have cut it to a 4 point game with 5 minutes left.
And they hit another one!!!!
1 point game with a 4:30 left!![]()
Wowwww, and West Virginia answers back with another 3!![]()
I have the Mountaineers -- I just wasn't feeling Arizona in this game.Originally Posted by YanksFan1992
The first day of the NCAA Tournament is done:
West Virginia defeats Arizona
Wisconsin defeats Cal State Fullerton
UCLA defeats Mississippi Valley State
Notre Dame defeats George Mason
The higher seeds were 14-2 today, with the only upsets being 11 seed Kansas State defeating 6 seed USC, and 9 seed Texas A&M defeating 8 seed BYU.
I ended up going 12-4 in my brackets today as I picked George Mason, Arizona, Kentucky and Kent State.
I have a feeling tommorrow will be an even better day today with many more down to the wire games...![]()
I lost w/ Kent St, USC and BYU.
My "upset free" bracket that I played my son's name on went 15-1. I apparently messed up and picked 9th seeded A&M over BYU. Good mistake today.![]()

West Virginia was pretty impressive tonight, Joe Alexander is a great looking player. One big downside to watching the tournament near DC tonight was that CBS decided to stick with the George Mason game to the VERY END of a 18 point blowout while Arizona and WVU were going at it with less than 10 minutes to go
And watching Duke in ncaa tourney games and how the neutral crowd turns on them with every call or bounce that goes their way reminds me too much of the Yankees. I almost have to turn the tv off because I like seeing close games/the underdog win but I hate seeing an elite team (not that Duke played like one tonight) get piled on by everyone because they have been elite for awhile
EDIT: And I had to include this one quote from a duke-belmont opinion piece: "Belmont took it to Duke, sometimes right down the gut or on slippery backdoors." hehe. The whole article is like that: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/ncaato...ana&id=3304438
Kansas St. has a chance to go deep into the tournament. Not only K-State has Michael Beasley, they also have Bill Walker, Jacob Pullen, Ron Anderson and Dominique Sutton.Originally Posted by YanksFan1992
Duke almost got upset by Belmont. Belmont could've been only the 5th team since the NCAA Tournament expanded to the Field of 64/65 that a #15 seed defeated a #2 seed.

I really hope so, as I have them beating Wisconsin and then Georgetown after that.Originally Posted by BroadwayBomber55
I went 12-4 in my bracket on Day 1. Unfortunately, one of my Elite Eight teams has been kicked to the curb.
