Its because the teams they've had since then are overrated, lack alot of athleticism and good inside play. Unless they are lights out shooting 3's (which they can be sometimes) they will have a hard time against anyone.

Hmm by rooting for the lower seed in every game (mostly against the teams I picked) I seem to be doing well. My two surprise Elite 8 picks managed to pull through (Kansas State and Xavier so I am at least happy about that. However, a Duke loss would have been great as Xavier most likely would have been able to make the Elite 8 then). So far I am 9-2 and all of my sweet 16 picks are still alive...

Truth. Fact of the matter is that Coach K has struggled to recruit the upper level inside player for quite some time.

I can see it's pretty close early. I admit, I'm having more fun watching today than I thought I would, mainly because I decided to do a facebook bracket and want a decent showing. Looking pretty good today, but at the end of the day, I'd take an entertaining upset over a boring bracket win.

I'm awful at picking games now. I used to be real good at it when I was much younger....I remember I used to almost always win or at least come in 2nd or 3rd in the pool at my dad's job--this was when I was 11, 12, 13 etc

Now I totally suck

I usually just pick the the teams that seemed most impresssive in their conference tournaments, as well as the higher seeds least likely to lose (such as UCLA, who has a much easier road than any other 1 seed). Then I pick 1 or 2 teams and then I pick a 3 seeds and then a 4 or 5 seed who I think have a run in them to advance to the Elite 8 (I chose Xavier and WSU; yes I do think they can beat UNC ). Finally, I throw in an 8-11 seed that I am impressed with to round out the Elite 8 (this year it's Kansas State). It usually seems to work so I haven't strayed from it.

CBSSportsline lets you watch the games for free if you are not getting the game you want. As an A&M grad, I obviously wanted the Texas A&M/BYU game. I was able to watch the whole thing on a live feed without paying anything (while still checking in on the Belmont/Duke game on television).
