AP: Pettitte Says Clemens Revealed HGH Use

Roger Clemens told Yankees teammate Andy Pettitte nearly 10 years ago that he used human growth hormone, Pettitte said in a sworn affidavit to Congress, The Associated Press learned Tuesday.

Pettitte said in the affidavit that he asked Clemens in 2005 what he would do if asked by the media about HGH, given his admission years earlier. According to the account told to the AP, the affidavit said Clemens responded by saying Pettitte misunderstood the previous exchange in 1999 or 2000 and that, in fact, Clemens had been talking about HGH use by his wife in the original conversation.

The odder it becomes, the worse it's looking for Roger. Though I am a huge Clemens fan and he may very well be telling the truth, the odds continue to stack up against him. McNamee would have to be lying repeatedly, the physical "evidence" presented would have to be fabricated, Pettitte would have to be mistaken in what he heard, and Clemens' wife would have used HGH but not Roger himself.

I sincerely hope he's been honest but have a bad feeling that tomorrow (and the weeks/months to come) will prove my hopes to be nothing but false.

A legal expert was on XM last night and he said he would be very surprised if either person gets jail time. He brought up a good point. What if those syringes does have steroids or HGH on it. Roger can simply say he thought it was B12 or the like. Perjery is very hard to prove.
