Johnson, the nation's top cornerback prospect, originally committed to the University of Miami over the summer.
But Johnson changed his mind in December and decommitted.
He later chose LSU over Florida and Florida State in mid-January.

I was kinda hoping he went else where just to see the epic meltdowns on Alabama boards

Shannon, unlike Coker, is doing a great job focusing on the local kids. And getting so many commits from Northwestern High's 'national champions' makes my day!Harris said he still doesn't know where he wants to go but said he plans to reach a decision by Tuesday night.
''It was a nice trip. It was productive. I got a lot of it touring the campus and facility,'' Harris said. ``I know people think I'm crazy, but UCF -- they're in it. People don't see what I see and the experience I had. It was a wonderful time.
``The best part about it was the direction they're headed in with Coach O'Leary. He has a vision and a plan of where he wants the program to go. They just got a new stadium on campus. They're like a college town atmosphere. It's not too close to home, it's not too far from home. It's in the perfect location.''![]()

It was a longshot, but I was really hoping Scott would come to Texas...especially after Charles left for the NFL, leaving the RB position wide open. He's got family ties to CU and his mom seemed to play a big role in the final decision. Best of luck to Darrell.Originally Posted by CanoForPresident

Great news. Other than making sure ND didn't lose anybody, this was the one guy I was interested in today. I try to make it up to Boulder for at least one game a year so it'd be awesome if they could become a top program again.Originally Posted by CanoForPresident

I'm giving Shannon the benefit of the doubt for now. I like his spirit and discipline which was missing during the Coker years plus he's from south Florida and bleeds UM green and orange. Yeah, that doesn't translate to wins but it's a breath of fresh air. He knows recruiting local kids made the program during the 80s and 90s and he's doing a great job selling the program in Miami.

Co-sign. I'm not 100% sold on Shannon as an in-game coach just yet but his defenses were always solid and we now know that the man can recruit, which is huge in college football. He pulled in a very solid DC in Bill Young this offseason. IMO, the only questionmark moving forward will be whether or not to replace Nix as offensive coordinator. Most importantly, he's not Larry Coker.Originally Posted by cubhater
