13 years is quite a long run, and with all the young kids I hope it goes for quite a while longer.
Ends this year
Makes it to 14-19 years
Makes it to 20-24 years
Hits 25 years or more

Unrealistic, but I could not vote anything other than 25+.

I see it going on for a while with the quality of players we have. The Yankees in 2005 and 2007 came from being in the cellar and I think that's always a positive for the future. Plus the young guns are just getting started.![]()

It shouldn't end anytime in the foreseeable future, so I had to go with 25+. However, the streak very easily could have ended this past season, and without Torre to rally behind like they did every season, anything could happen. I think we realized in the beginning of this year how easily a very good team can turn into a disaster.
The team we have as of today probably isn't going to make the playoffs but I think there will be changes before ST so I'll reserve judgement until then.
How so? we trotted out Rasner/Wright/Karstens/Igawa/DeSalvo in the first half along with Abreu/Cano/Damon not hitting for nearly the same duration and Giambi being injured. Sure it took monster years from ARod and Po, but its the same team (minus Vizcaino) only with Hughes/Joba/IPK thrown into the mix.Originally Posted by The Straw

The three kids are a ? + they're innings restricted so even if they produce how much?
How is Jorge going to hold up?
How is Andy going to hold up?
The Bull Pen is absolutely disgusting! except for Mariano who is showing signs of slowing down

This team needs a starter, first baseman and at least 2 more (real) arms in the pen
If it doesn't end this year, it could be a LONG time. If everything goes to plan this will be the last year we'll be vulnerable for a while. Maybe when Jeter and A-Rod start to hit their late 30's we'll be at risk.
"We understand that John Henry must be embarrassed, frustrated and disappointed by his failure in this transaction. Unlike the Yankees, he chose not to go the extra distance for his fans in Boston."
My words exactly, with the young pitching we have coming up we should be dominant for awhile. We do need to start scouring Latin America for Jeters replacement though (though won't Florida have to trade Hanley Ramirez in the next 2-3 years? We should have more than enough spare pitching prospects by then and others to get him)Originally Posted by Yankees13
Though I'm also all for finding the next Hanley or Jose Reyes down there as well and growing them ourselves
