Tipping Doormen and Building Maintenance Staff

There are four doormen in my building that I need to tip for Christmas. Is $20-$25 too cheap an amount to give them? I also have to tip a couple of porters and an assistant super so it all adds up. I've checked several different websites to get a good idea but some of the amounts people give are insanely out of my budget.

Any thoughts?

I sure it is along with a small card saying thanks. Beside give from your heart. If that is your best then it better than someone giving a million dollars and that not being their best.

Not to make this religious but when I am thinking about how to tip someone I often think about this scripture, perhaps it can help you too.

Hopefully it'll be okay. If there were only one doorman I would give more but since there are four of them plus others I can only give so much. I don't want to look like a cheapskate (although I'm sure there are plenty in this building) but I can't afford to go crazy.

Hey man, I did the right thing returning the phone. They told me I was getting a reward. I wasn't livid over it, but it kind of sucks that someone says they're giving you a reward and they give you ten bucks to a store that you have no use for.

THANK YOU! I paid for shipping and got back a ten dollar gift card to a store that I don't use. Call me ungrateful, but it's somewhat dissapointing to someone who (at the time) made zero dollars an hour.

Some people really love McDonalds I guess.

I give my daughter gift cards to Subway and Dunkin Donuts as part of her Christmas presents. She loves them because both places are walking distance from the high school, so her and her friends go a lot.

As for the original question, give them what you can afford with a nice note saying how much you appreciate what they do.
