I just saw a feature on MTVU that they were showing. I can't imagine the state of fear that they must've been in..then again I really can. I probably felt the same way after 9/11 happened. I'm very grateful that there are so many people out there willing to serve our country and protect little punks like me and expect nothing in return when they deserve next to everything.

I was going to start a thread about this. Nice gesture.

May we always remember the souls who were lost, the courage shown by our soldiers and the strength and resolve of our nation.

I'm glad someone mentioned this. There is no honor to it anywhere on any homepage today. Very dissapointing. But I am glad it is getting mention here.

The NY Times has a link to the front page from that day on their "today in history" page.

66 years...There must be very few survivors of Pearl Harbor left. Sadly there are few WWII survivors left at all.

Thanks for starting this thread, YankeeGal.

You are so right, Jen. I'm fortunate that both my parents are still alive and remember this day vividly.
My Mom was 19 years old and remembers like it was yesterday, listening to the news broadcasts on the radio.
My Dad was already enlisted in the Canadian Army on Dec 7, 1941..Stationed in England.
