Coors is just water. I hate the Red Sox, but there's no way you can say Coors is a better beer then Sam Adams.

Good lord man Coors? That is not a real beer and people in Colorado who are beer drinkers don't drink that.
Sam Adams is not only overrated it is not even the best beer brewed in MA.
Fat Tire reigns supreme. New Belgiam and Coopersmiths would blow away any head to head with Sam.
When asked if the Red Sox would've beaten Tampa Bay in the ALCS had Manny not gotten his wish and been traded, Ortiz replied: "Probably. I'm not gonna lie to you."
If Coors is what Colorado is coming to the table with, there is no battle.

Now this is my kind of thread. You absolutely have to go with Fat Tire from Colorado. When you're talking Boston though, there's a lot more to pick from than Sam Adams (although some of their beers are pretty good), You also have Wachusett and Harpoon. We need to get more suggestions before we decide on the Boston representative.
Colorado can't possibly have more obnoxious fans than Beantown does, so I'll drink a few Coors before seeing them idiots celebrate anything.

Harpoon is the only beer brewed in Boston Mass. The majority of Sam Adams product is brewed in Utica,Pittsburg,Philly and other locals (even Cali). And the reason being is it is a MASS produced beer.
Mass produced anything stinks.
When asked if the Red Sox would've beaten Tampa Bay in the ALCS had Manny not gotten his wish and been traded, Ortiz replied: "Probably. I'm not gonna lie to you."
Boston lager is one of the crappiest beers I have ever had. Sam Adams seasonals are amazing.
Calmer than you are.
Breckinridge Avalanche is a superior beer even to Fat Tire. Colorado right now leads the country in beer production, but there's so much more out there than Bud and Coors.
There's no comparison to the dreck coming out of Massachusetts. Colorado wins by a landslide.

Great call sir. Breckenridge Amber is not very good. But their IPA and Christmas is outstanding. Flying Dog, Boulder and Wynkoop will destroy anything out of Boston.Originally Posted by Maynerd

All these micro-brews sound good.

Huh?Originally Posted by ShaneTravis
Sam Adams is the Boston Beer Company, so technically its based out of Boston, they even do Brewery tours, the problem is that they're such a big company now, they have regional breweries like mentioned that do most of the leg work. Its really not practical to base something like that out of the city of Boston.

You are a beer drinker is what I meant. A fellow man at arms, kin, cut from same cloth or what you will....anyway.Originally Posted by MTYankee23
The company may be out of Boston, the recipe may be out Boston and the guy who owns it may own a house in Boston. But the beer is not brewed in Boston. Yes, you are right it is too large to be a local beer anymore. Hence the point that it is a mass produced beer and in no way comparable to anything coming out of Boulder or Fort Worth.
Be it beer or Lasagna cooking for an incredibly large number of people tends to water down the final dish.

Yeah, Definitely got too big. I only developed my beer snobbery in the past year, so I can't remember what I thought of the Denver beers when I was out there a couple years ago. Which is definitely disappointing. I don't necessarily like anything that comes out of Boston either.
My focus recently has been on Scottish Ales. I don't think Edinburgh has a team in the WS.
Sam Adams kicks the everliving $hit out of anything Coors has to offer x10. But I will be drinking Coors this week because 1. In support of Colorado, and 2.) It's cheaper.

Out of Dunbar they make a Belhaven Scottish Ale that gets all the raves.
I stick to the Pilsners and Stouts. Planning a trip to Ireland in a few months.

If you can't get or can't afford a good Colorado Beer (Fat Tire or Avalanche come to mind), at least go with a Killian's Irish Red. It's the only Coors product this Colorado resident will touch.Originally Posted by BillBuckner

Sam Adams Summer Ale was awesome for me this past summer
Alright men, watch out.. this girl knows her beer.
Samuel Adams is the best beer, well for beer in the Boston area that is.
I can't find it anywhere back in Washington (but that's fine because we have some incredible beers out there).
Coors is horrible.
I do have a question though, where does Fat Tire come from? I thought it was not Colorado but I guess I am mistaken. Where in Colorado?

If you expand the microbrew conversation to other New England states, I'm quite fond of the beers that Magic Hat produces. Although they've gottne pretty big, so I'm not sure if they are still a microbrew.
What about Long Trail?
And somebody makes a yummy blueberry ale.
Both of those beers are terrible. But if you put me in a bar with only the two of them I'd take a Coors. If I drink 1 Sam Adams I feel like I just ate a huge meal and need to take a nap.

And if we were to expand the boundries than yes MA would be way down the list.
Maine and New Hampshire make some of the best beer in the USA. Vermont is not too shabby either.

Never heard of it. I almost never have fruit in my beer. The 2 just don't mix so no wonder I have not heard of it. An occasional lambic is ok. #9 from what I remember has a touch of berry or citrus yes?
Pretty cool wedding reception present.
Check out their Single Chair or Angel. I actually think their wheat beer is their best product.

Denver and Boulder have a number of great Micro breweries. The Wynkoop in Denver was my favorite stop before and after Rockies games. It is a short walk from Coors field.

As for this thread if its Coors vs Sam Adams, then it's a blowout for Boston. Coors' spinoff beer Blue Moon is really good though. Couldn't believe it came from them.
Rock Bottom Brewery, I believe originated in Denver. As others have said CO has much more to offer than Coors.
Up here in WA, we are spoiled with beers from here and the state that has more micro breweries than anyone, Oregon.
Magic Hat Ravell is my all time favorite beer. It changed names a few years ago, but it'll always be Ravell to me. It's their winter beer. Beyond amazing.Originally Posted by Hildy910
