We'll see but somehow I doubt Chris Britton will play savior to this season.
Almost no one expects Britton to be a savior.

Most of the people bitching about him not being on the roster wanted him on the roster because there was a good chance he would be at least slightly better than what we had in his place.

BRITTON GETS HIS CHANCE There are many fan Web sites and blogs devoted to the Yankees, and they seem to have one thing in common: every one is convinced that Chris Britton has gotten a raw deal this season. Despite strong numbers in the minors, Britton has pitched in only three games for the Yankees, to the dismay of many fans.

“I really don’t see the Internet too much,” Britton said, after returning to the Yankees for the first time since June 9. “Just try to stay focused on what I’m doing.”

"Jesus Montero is a stud," one evaluator wrote in an e-mail. "One of the best young hitters I've ever seen, period."

As I've been saying, all the people who were crowing for Britton based on his ERA last year in Baltimore and going on and on about how Torre must not like him can finally see what he is. As a prospect BA said he had a mid 90s fastball and an inconsistent curveball, now hes got a flat 90-91 fastball and a junk breaking ball. He got AAA hitters out with it because he commands it pretty well, but he's going to have major issues in the majors. Maybe if the kid actually took care of his body I'd feel bad that he was left in the minors all year

According to milb.com, it was Saturday in Buffalo, 1.1 innings, 2 hits, 1 run, 0 walks, 1 K.

Thanks for the help hellonewman. Hopefully he was just shaking off the rust and will pitch better next time.

Britton did ok tonight. A little wild in the strike zone but I like the fact that he came out and threw strikes.
    Never left the Betances bandwagon.
