I see fields of green, Veeck's pinwheel lights
Cubs lose by day, Sox win at night
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world.
Great lineup, I'm going to the Virgin Festival in Baltimore this weekend. A lot of the same bands are playing both shows. I just hope their planes aren't delayed or we might miss some of them. Have fun to everyone who's going to see some great live music this weekend.

Hard to believe this road show is still going on. I went to it in '93. Primus and Alice in Chains were the big name acts. I think Rage Against the Machine was there, too. The side show stuff was beyond freaky.
I would be surprised if Amy Winehouse actually showed up.
I saw The Roots three weeks ago. I liked their performance a lot. Their drummer, ?uestlove, is amazing.
Please keep reminding yourself that you're currently living in the Mo Rivera era!

I really miss that time period because I love to rock on.

Tool was at that show as well. I'm probably more jealous of you for being there to see AIC, Tool and Primus than I am with whoever is banging JLH these days. This is my top two bands plus a top 10. I may have actually orgasmed in my spot that day if I were there.Originally Posted by Toaderly

I got back last night. What a great weekend in Chicago.
We only got passes for Sunday (due to $$ and not wanting to spend 3/5 days in one place). It was crazy hot, and being on your feet for pretty much 12 hours is not something I can do anymore, but I made it through.
Lined up nice and early for Kings of Leon, My Morning Jacket, and Pearl Jam. Unfortunately, the cost of securing a good spot for these groups meant missing out on Iggy Pop and Modest Mouse, but I was fine with that.
Kings of Leon were fantastic. It was my first time seeing them, and they didn't disappoint. Squeezed in 16 songs in a hour long set. They sounded great, and can't wait to see them again.
My Morning Jacket played with the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra. They were fantastic as well. I've seen them 3 or 4 times now, and they are always good.
Pearl Jam was well, Pearl Jam. I knew going into it that it would be "greatest hits" type of set, and it was, but what I wasn't counting on was the energy from the crowd. It was unbelievable. Estimates had the crowd at nearly 160,000.
Aside from McCready having some technical issues, they were great. You could tell they were exhausted, but they really put everything they had into it. Eddie himself had to be dog................ tired. Thursday night fanclub only show at the Vic theater, Friday afternoon first pitch/7th inning stretch at Cubs game, Friday night Masters of War with Ben Harper at lolla, Sunday on stage with KoL, and then his own PJ show.
Great views of the city during the show, and being right on Lake Michigan gave at least a few nice breezes through the evening. I couldn't think of a better location. I wouldn't of had the energy to do all three days. Kudos to those who did.
