Springsteen and E-Street Band new album out in Fall

    http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,288899,00.html

The general disarray at Sony Music's Columbia Records may have a savior: Bruce Springsteen.
The Boss, as we still call him, is apparently planning a new album for release in late fall. Some sources insist that this will be an E Street Band album, and not another side project like the "Seeger Sessions" or a solo collection of introspective songs.

thank god. i cant handle another 'side project'

plus i have yet to see him in concert and im sure he will do like 1000 shows (or whatever insane number he does) at giants stadium so ill get the chance to cross him off my list.

I'll be looking forward to that. I'm a younger guy (22) so I didn't really get into Springsteen besides the hits you hear on th radio, but I thought The Rising was and is one of the greatest albums ever, just great song after great song. His next albums Devils and Dust and The Seeger Sessions were both solid, but nothing compared to The Rising.

I highly recommend seeing him. He doesn't charge the outrageous prices (he will charge under $100) and he varies the set list. I love to see him 2-3 times. I've seen him 12 times now.

If you get the chance to, listen to some of his non-hits. Pop in "Born to Run" (the album) or Darkness on the Edge of Town if you haven't heard them already.

Oh boy, this is the best news I've heard in a while.
I endorse the Darkness recommendation--my favorite album of his, Followed by The River. Keep away from Lucky Town.

Even better, see if you can watch the DVD of him playing a show in London back in the 70s. It's absolutely mesmerizing. I didn't start going to Bruce shows till the early 80s, so I missed that part of his career.

The Boss puts on an outstanding concert. He sings for hours and hours and is entertaining from the first note to the last. I have seen him more times than I can count. You just can't go wrong seeing him live. Outstanding.

The new album is great news!! I look forward to it. He's my fave artist. He's alos my much older guy crush.

You would never know that he is a man in his upper 50's the way he plays. Expect a solid 2 1/2 hours and often more and he doesn't stop.

Oh dear. We'll have to share, is that all right?
I still remember him hanging upside from the microphone stand and howling at the full moon at the Fenway shows on the Rising tour. At fifty something!

I agree completely - two great albums, but he's had a lot, really, and even some of the albums that are so-so have some great songs. I saw him in concert twice - once on the "Born in the USA" tour and once about five years ago, maybe. He puts on a fantastic show, and of course, seeing him in New Jersey is the best!

I love Bruce too! Hildy -- you would have died -- when I saw him in the 80s, he sang the entire song "Fire" laying on his back on the piano -- it was originally known by the Pointer Sisters but he actually wrote it. That same concert he paid for everyone's parking and told all the girls behind the stage they could check out his butt the whole night.

I've seen him about 25 times now -- first time in '85 and 4 times during the Rising tour -- he never disappoints..

Here's the music video to Bruce's lead single off the new album "Radio Nowhere". It is only up for today (9/4).

I've heard it on the Radio and I've gotta say it's not better than any of his classics.

There was a free download on itunes of one of his new songs up last week, not sure if it's still there. I'd like to see him, but I'm not a fan of his more recent stuff. A little too folky and mellow for my tastes.

They must be getting ready to tour. Where I take my piano lessons they were restringing the E street band C-3 Yamaha stage piano.

    Highly recommended.

I tried Saturday for the opener in Hartford, sold out in 4 minutes.

The sad thing about today is, I knew they were going on sale, but thought it was 10 AM like Saturday, when it was 9 AM. Needless to say sold out.

After a ton of searching, I managed to get two in the nosebleeds at Continental. Missed out initially, but then I started look for singles and then I landed on a pair. Of course, I was supposed to get six, so right now only me and my sister are going (although my family friends managed to get tickets for the MSG show). My mom's hoping they add a show on Thursday.

Re: Springsteen and E-Street Band new album out in Fall

I like Springsteen and much of what he does. I have many favorites, but the one I absolutely love is an obscure song that gets few plays or even raves, but it carries a message for me, "41 shots". I have seen a number of shows analyzing what happened that day and the concensus was that many things happened that led to the situation, there were a number of inexperienced policemen involved there and it got to be a bloodbath because there wasn't time to think or act on experience. I cannot put the full blame on the policemen involved, but their training was woefully inadequate as is probably police training today.

Play the EStreet band album and the song "41 shots' and see if you don't feel it as haunting as I do.

I'm going to Philly on 10/6
And I'll probably hit 1 Meadowlands and both at MSG
NEXT summer will be the huge blowout 10 shows at Giants Stadium type tour.

Next show will be 50th for me!
"We understand that John Henry must be embarrassed, frustrated and disappointed by his failure in this transaction. Unlike the Yankees, he chose not to go the extra distance for his fans in Boston. It is understandable, but wrong that he would try to deflect the accountability for his mistakes on to others and to a system for which he voted in favor. It is time to get on with life and forget the sour grapes."

I got tickets to the Sunday show at the Boston Garden, but was skunked on the Monday show. That sucker sold out in about 8 minutes.
Now to lurk for ticket drop info on Backstreets.com....
