    May they rest in peace, but I seriously question the way this fire was manged. Having nine guys die for a store that had no chance seems wrong.

    Such a tragedy. I really commend firefighters. So brave.

    What's truly awful is that Charleston has never lost a firefighter and now to have nine perish last night is just unthinkable. My thoughts and prayers are with their families and their fellow firefighters.

    A terribly sad day.

    Charleston, SC - One of my favorite places in the US, I called it my home for 3 years, it is my sons "birth state", many happy memories...

    This is a tragedy for the City of Charleston.....

    The memorial service is tomorrow and they're expecting something like 30,000 people. Glad I won't be around that traffic, but it's so nice to hear so many people care.

    I had to turn my radio off...the station I listen to here at work is broadcasting the memorial service, and as soon as I heard the bagpipes I got tears in my eyes.
