    New "Ebay" Scam

I just got this message in my email today and it's clearly a scam. The message came from eebay.com, and the link takes you to a completely different website.

Be aware!! The message looks convincing, and tries to con you into thinking that one of your buyers has paid for an item and has not received it yet.

    "Dear member,

eBay member ecca123ecca has indicated that they already paid for item #330125098825

Review the submitted details regarding the payment.

    Regards,
    eBay Internationalaa AG"

Is that what happens to us? A life of conflict with no time for friends… so that when it's done, only our enemies leave roses.

If you're selling something, don't ship anything until you've received notice from your financial institution (or Paypal) that the funds have cleared.

BTW, never EVER allow the buyer to use their shipper instead of yours, since they have control of the shipment. As the sender and payer, you can try having the package returned. If you bill the recipient, they have control of the package's destination, so you can't have it returned to you.

Somebody hijacked my account recently. I've learned not to respond to people who ask questions and want you to reply to their email address.

I see if you put your cursor on the link it shows it leads you to a ".ru" domain (Russia). That'd be my first tip not to click on it.

Wow...I never knew that. I do ask questions sometimes when I want to bid on certain items.

Whenever you receive a message you even remotely suspect might be phishing go to eBay directly and sign in. No message in your inbox? It was fake. Report all phishing attempts to spoof@ebay.com
