Just beware...if you go to a dentist and he/she says you need a lot of expensive work get a second opinion. I went last year and the guy told me I needed like $12,000.00 worth of dental procedures including several crowns (of which insurance would pay only half on most of it). I'd been scared to go to the dentist anyway since my previous experience was not good (started drilling before I was numb).
So I go to this new guy yesterday and he told me he could rebuild the broken fillings (I have 4 broken) and that I need one of those peridontal cleanings (the x-rays showed early stages of peridontal disease). However, I need ZERO crowns. Additionally, the dentist was very personable and explained everything in detail, whereas the other guy had me watch some video and gave few details. He wasn't personable at all.
I'm still nervous about going to the dentist, but the guy made me feel comfortable and I think he'll do a great job. Additonally, the work will cost probably half what the other guy quoted and I now have a primary and secondary dental plan, so my cost will be very minimal.![]()
