Thank your lucky stars we're not Mets fans!

I feel sorry for them, I really do. I have a Met fan friend at work that will be positively suicidal tomorrow morning.

Today, when the Yankees lost I was screaming and yelling at the TV, my kid sister was sitting there, afraid to even approach me. I told her, "we could've been 1 game back, 1 game back if that bullpen would've held or if we'd gotten any clutch hitting! Arghhhh!" I snapped at her and she said - "This isn't the first time the Yankees haven't been in first place you know! You're acting like it's the first time!". I didn't admit it at the time, but she's right. Last year, before the All Star break, this team was doing WORSE than they are now, and worse yet, it was the pitching that was blowing chunks. This year it's really the hitting, and that is something that I think can still be turned around.

I'm really spoiled. Not being in first place, even before the All Star break, gets me angry, upset, depressed, etc. If I were a Met fan, would I be throwing myself out the window? They just got swept by their division rival, and there is no relief in site for them. Their management is non committal about getting help, and the talent they do have doesn't seem to be enough to even get them to .500 right now. I gotta feel sorry for them.
"He knew, as he went after that ball, that he had a decision to make," said Tony Clark, who watched the play unfold from first base. "Either you let the ball drop and try to minimize the damage, or you make the catch and pay the consequences. He knew that, no doubt about it, and he chose B."

I don't feel sorry for them at all.

Mut fans for years gave us boasts and bragging about what they'd do to the Yankees if they ever played us. They chanted "Yankees Suck!" at the games.

Starting in 1986 with the Mets' Series win, they insulted the Yankees and their fans constantly, and that includes the organization and players.
Wally Bachman mocked the Yankees by wearing a Yankee t-shirt before the Series started against Boston saying "this is as close as the Yankees will get to the World Series".

Anyone remember the OBNOXIOUS "Baseball Like It Ought To Be" ad campaign by the Mets in 1986?? BTW, the Yankees had won 97 games in 1985.

They turned the Clemens-Piazza affair into a circus lying about Roger "throwing at Piazza" and then "throwing a bat a Piazza". Both lies.

On WFAN radio their whining callers attack the Yankees, and the despicable hosts there, such as Somers and Benigno, run Yankee Hate Shows every night vilifying Yankee fans and players, especially Clemens. Benigno now broadcasts Red Sox highlights. They have nothing left except hating the Yankees and their fans.

Met fans are pitiful, frustrated jealous losers. So is their team. I wish them the worst.

Slippery - those are pretty convincing arguments I must say. I guess my pity for them comes from having some decent Met fans friends.

But you are right, one of the things that makes me most angry is the whole Clemens/Piazza thing. You would think that they would've had enough of milking the incident, but they haven't. He has been absolutely villified by WFAN.

Hmmmm.....you're right. If the shoe were on the other foot, very few of them would show any pity for us.

Thanks for setting me straight dude!

But my point stands, I thank my lucky stars I'm not a Met fans.
"He knew, as he went after that ball, that he had a decision to make," said Tony Clark, who watched the play unfold from first base. "Either you let the ball drop and try to minimize the damage, or you make the catch and pay the consequences. He knew that, no doubt about it, and he chose B."

I don't know if any of you heard this or not, but BV was on WFAN on Thursday talking about his team, their division, etc.

He starts talking about how the braves are scrambling and the teams are similiar and than I think it was Russo says, "Yeah a lot alike except for the fact that they are 7 over and you are 7 over .500." I;m not sure if I have the numbers right, but it was totally funny and BV who is never at a loss of words was speechless for a moment.

And yes Alex I am forever grateful that I am a Yankee fan. Things could be so much worse. Go Yankees!!

I have always found it odd that some Mets fans call in and discuss our team more than their own. Pretty odd.

Luvtino - I wish I'd heard that interview with Bobby Valentine.
"He knew, as he went after that ball, that he had a decision to make," said Tony Clark, who watched the play unfold from first base. "Either you let the ball drop and try to minimize the damage, or you make the catch and pay the consequences. He knew that, no doubt about it, and he chose B."

I don't feel sorry for them-they are whiny and annoying and I'm not sad to see them lose. They should concentrate on their games instead of constantly compalining about Clemens-they have enough to worrry about!

I always go to one or two Mets games a season with a friend who is a Mets fan so today I was at Shea for their loss to the Braves. The Mets may be the most pathetic looking team not based in Florida or Montreal that I've ever seen. During batting practice they had the enthusiasm of a wet noodle and didn't seem to care about hitting in the cage or taking fielding practice. How do you get any better if you don't put any work into it? Not to mention shouldn't they at least put the effort in for their fans if not for themselves?

During the game they just looked sad, sad, sad, all around. Piazza is incapable of throwing runners out so the Braves ran at every opportunity. There was no doubt the Mets would lose today, it was just a matter of how and when they would blow it.

Ten minutes ago on Joe Benigno's show he played the Mut lowlights from Sunday. The background music was "Na Na Na Na, Hey Hey, Good-by!"!

As Benigno says about the Muts, "Kiss them good-by".

Man, this is so good. All they have left is rooting for the Red Sox.

I'm going to have months sticking it to Met fans. TWIST THE KNIFE IN.

    Oh, baby.

I don't have any sympathy for Met fans, since most of them are Yankee haters.

But this issue of us being "spoiled" almost makes it sound like most of us are front runners -- and I think that many fans of other teams perceive us like that. I KNOW from reading the post of many of the forumers here that such is not the case. Indeed, many of us struggled through the "Horace Clarke" years when the Yanks stunk up the place, and the Mets were the popular club in town. Our loyalties remained with our Beloved Bronx Boys. It's nice to bask in the successes, but win or lose, I was, am, and will always be a Yankee fan, and I know that goes for all of you as well. Case closed......

    It's all about karma.
Mets fans have sunk to the level of the Red Sox, chanting 'Yankees Suck' at their own games, much like the Sox. Granted, the Sox are far, far more evil , so I don't hate the Mets fans as much as I hate Boston. Mets aren't to be worried about. They are out of our division.
Boston is, and will forever be more deserving of our wraith . I mean, at least Mike'Blonde' Piazza hasn't said anything about drilling Ruth in the ass-

You ought to listen to Benigno on WFAN.

This creep rips Yankee fans every single night. Why?? Because he secretly wishes he had become one.

No wonder I hate Met fans. I didn't, not before 1986.

Their play this year only further emphasizes the true meaning of the word Mets. . .

To paraphrase Joe D., I thank the good lord for not making me a Mets fan!

Does anyone know of any similar sites to this for the Mets? I love to read the crybaby Mets fans comments about how bad their team is and enjoy hearing them complaining on WFAN.

You should hear that jealous bitter MANIAC Joe Benigno ranting and raving about Yankee fans everynight! That pitiful putz is going to need medication soon as he watches his Mutts go down a drain.

Also on WFAN, Steve Somers is about as bad, but he is currently in San Fran visiting his 89 year old father.

You can always sock it to Met fans on their MLB site's forum.

You can also go to: Fanhome.com. They have a great bunch of baseball boards including a section for each team. http://baseball.fanhome.com/forums/f...php?forumid=22

mets/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi. That used to be a Met board URL, but the team is so bad it looks like it has been EUTHANIZED.

As for WFAN, you can try http://www.wfan.com/message/discussion/
Benigno has a board there also. Leave him a message!
