Re: Paris Hilton sentenced to 45 days in jail

    From the CNN article:
As a city prosecutor said during closing arguments that Hilton deserved jail time, Hilton's mother, Kathy, laughed. When the judge ruled, Kathy Hilton then blurted out: "May I have your autograph?"

When a reporter asked what she thought of the judge's decision, a visibly angry Kathy Hilton responded: "What do you think? This is pathetic and disgusting, a waste of taxpayer money with all this nonsense. This is a joke."
    http://www.cnn.com/2007/SHOWBIZ/TV/0....ap/index.html

Somehow I don't think my parents would have had the same kind of response. Kathy - you're the joke.

Will somebody please explain why this woman is famous? She can't sing, she can't act, she is not that attractive and appears to have an IQ lower than Manny Rameriez.

Why do we even know she exists?

I'm kinda torn on this. One one hand, she's a twerp and needs to learn some life lessons. On the other, not many in her position would have gotten whacked the way she did.

    Same here.

Perhaps she needed that FL teacher's lawyer, who argued that she is "too pretty" to go to jail. Worked for her.

Good, it's about time she got a reality check. Hats off to the judge.

I just hope they don't win the appeal, though.

Zsa Zsa Gabor went to jail here in L.A. so I guess they could follow through on it with Paris too.

Re: Paris Hilton sentenced to 45 days in jail

She paid no attention to her previous offenses and she disobeyed her past sentances. She drove when her license was suspended. She has a total disregard for authority and that her name will give her whatever she wants.
She needs to be taught that there are rules of society that need to be obeyed and that she is not above the law.

I wish she is put into a cell where there are hardened women and that they teach her a life lesson.

People like her need to be taken down a thousand pegs.

She should be given a thousand hours community service and for every hour she doesn't serve in a years time she should get ten more days in San Quenton or something like it.

Her personal assistant forgot to tell her that her license was suspended. It's clearly her fault.

That is for sure! Zsa Zsa was smart enough to stay out of sight when her husband, the Prince, was making a fool of himself over the Anna Nicole baby fiasco.

And she showed up late for the hearing. That was a very bad idea also.

Based on the way her mother was acting, you can see why Paris is the way she it. Absolutely pathetic. She needs to learn that she cannot just do whatever she wants. Hats off to the judge.

She has the best lawyers money can buy, so I'm guessing she'll get out of it.
I'm sure we're going to hear real soon about how she's a victim in all of this.

Here's a rundown on where she is heading:

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070505/...is_hilton_jail

"Paris Hilton better like chicken. The hotel heiress was sentenced Friday to 45 days at the Century Regional Detention Center, Los Angeles County's jailhouse for women just south of downtown in Lynwood.

Inmates get three low-sodium meals a day, with dinner the only hot meal. Beef and pork aren't permitted — "it's all poultry-based," said Capt. Alice Scott, who oversees the 2,200-inmate facility she describes as "a very nice place."

Like other high-profile Los Angeles County inmates — O.J. Simpson, Robert Blake, Robert Mitchum, Sirhan Sirhan and Charles Manson — Hilton will be segregated from the general population for her own safety, living in a one- or two-person cell.

Her cell will be Spartan: 12-by-8 feet with a toilet, sink and a window 6 inches wide. She'll comb her blonde locks in a mirror made of polished metal.
Breakfast is served between 6 a.m. and 7:30 a.m., hours when Hilton sometimes gets in after a night of partying.

Inmates in segregation are allowed outside their cells for at least an hour each day to shower, watch television in the day room, participate in outdoor recreation or talk on the telephone, Scott said. There are a bank of phones that use prepaid phone cards — cellular telephones and Blackberries aren't allowed."

Yeah, she was 15 minutes late showing up. Her mother had an outburst in court when her sentance was announced and also outside of the courthouse. And just think, her mother had a reality show where she was going to teach all of us how to act like a Hilton!

I am beginning to think she will not weasel out on this. I read that they used to let people out right away who had less than 90 days because of jail overcrowding but they are not doing that anymore. So, unless her appeal works she is going to serve the full 45 days.

Oh sure, have the mentality that they can do anything they want and have to answer to no one.

That is easy to do only when you have their kind of money!

But in the end if you break the law and then flaunt your nose at the judge (by being late) then you pay the price and it looks like she will. I think Kathy is just shocked that they would be held accountable for their actions.

Paris already knew before going to court that they might toss her a** in jail and yet she still had the audacity to show up late. I guess old habits die hard. I just think it is funny they think it is OK to have outbursts in court just because they are rich.

I would suggest that neither Kathy nor Paris have any point of reference in the real world.

They don't think they can get away with such behavior because they're rich. They just don't realize such behavior is inappropriate, because nobody's ever held them to account.
