Re: April 7, 2007 - Baltimore Orioles @ New York Yankees from Yankee Stadium

yankees looking to get back on track behind Igawa-san.

    Pitching matchup
BAL: RHP Steve Trachsel (15-8, 4.97 ERA in 2006)
Trachsel has a 4-4 record with a 3.58 ERA in nine career starts against the Yankees. Trachsel will be making his Orioles debut in his first start of 2007. The 36-year-old won 15 games for the Mets last season and has a career 9-9 record and 3.58 ERA against the Yankees, holding the pinstripes' offense to a .227 average.

NYY: RHP Kei Igawa (Major League debut)
Igawa had a 63-38 record and 3.30 ERA for his six years in Japan's Central League. Igawa makes his first start in the Majors after a successful career in Japan that included three seasons as strikeout champion. Igawa posted a 2-0 record and 3.13 ERA in six spring starts, striking out 22 batters in 23 innings.

    Players to watch
Derek Jeter is a .391 hitter (9-for-23) with a .781 slugging percentage against Trachsel.
Orioles catcher Ramon Hernandez has always worn out Yankee pitching. He owns a .396 batting average against New York, with seven homers in 53 career at-bats.

let's hope the weather today will provide better game conditions. although 37 degrees (feels like 30) is certainly less than optimal, though a day game. the forecast gives a 30% chance of scattered flurries and snow showers, with a possible high of 43.

Good luck to Kei Igawa in his MLB debut. Igawa needs to stay poised, don't get too caught up in the moment, and pitch effectively. The defense needs to be consistent. You can't just have 0 errors in one game and 2 or 3 the next.

The offense though, they need to convert by finding ways to score other than the longball. Sure, the Yankees will get a high OBP, but their batting avg. needs to be higher especially with RISP and the Bases Loaded.

Jeter is in the lineup today, so is Posada. No Damon.

    Good morning/afternoon everyone!

No work today as it turned out, so I get to enjoy the game with you all this afternoon.

MLBTV is my route today, but it hasnt been so bad these first few days of the season.

I'm going to clean up my pad and then settle in. Talk to you all soon.

Although I'd love to see Damon in the lineup, I'm more concerned about him healing fully so he can STAY in the lineup.

I have MLB.tv for the first month and I just signed up for mlb.extra innings with the cable co. too.

I noticed that the game won't be on extra innings.

Does anyone know if the game will be on mlb.tv today or do they randomly not so games too for no apparent reason?

I'm not sure if I'll be around for the game today, so LET'S GO YANKEES! I hope the team can rebound from the last 2 games. I hope Igawa pitches well today as well.

It's very early in the season, but the Devil Rays are in 1st place in the A.L. East. Let's hope the Yankees see that and do something about it.

Plus with Moose on my fantasy baseball team, it was a double whammy!

The good news was that because of the holiday there was absolutely no traffic getting to the Stadium. And a lot of people left early so there wasn't any traffic leaving the Stadium. Traffic wise, I think it was the best game I've ever been to.

Unbelievable. This garbage never stops. Finally after a long week the wife is away and it's a nice Saturday afternoon where I'm looking forward to SEEING Igawa's debut. I order the extra innings and only night games are on and it looks like only the radio will be availabe on mlbtv.

Show the Orioles feed or My9 or whatever. It's not rocket science. Mlbt and indemand are making millions and they have to rob the fans of the right to watch a Saturday afternoon game. Go back and check out Knickfan's post. See those numbers? Load them under your Internet Properties > Connections > LAN Settings. The last four numbers go in the Port box. Click OK. Start last nights game. After it's playing for a minute or so, switch to today's game.

Agreed. Luckily, I'm in the NY area, but I'd be furious if I paid that much and I couldn't see the game. It actually is on YES today, though.

    We're Sorry!

Your data indicate that you are prevented from watching this game LIVE due to national live broadcast restrictions. During national TV broadcasts, fans in the US, Japan, US Virgin Isls, Guam and S. Korea are blacked out. These games are indicated on the schedule with a grey icon

    Nice message isn't?

It's not on FOX. Why is it blacked out???

I'm in RI, do they expect me to drive 3.5 hours to watch the game in person?
