Regardless of who makes the 25 man roster,or who has the best long term upside, who do you think is leading for the rookie award this year?
The top nominees at this point seem to be Jose Tabata, Bronson Sardinha, and Chase Wright.

Kei Igawa?

Is this just for the minor league kids who've gotten ST invites? If so, I'll go with Sardinha but boy, Chase Wright really blew me away in the one game I saw him pitch. The Yanks have really got some outstanding minor leaguers.
Chase Wright is a welcome surprise, but I'd say Bronson Sardinha. He's been mashing the ball and he's getting himself a bit of press too. Gammons (on ESPN.com) mentioned Sardinha as one of this Spring Training's "phenom sightings." Not bad for the guy.

If Karstens is eligible it's his. Period. End of discussion.
Congrats to Kei for winning the James Dawson Awars for 2007. Now let the games begin!!Originally Posted by Jasbro

Oops! Sloppy mistake. Thanks!Originally Posted by DontHateOnNumber2
Agreed. As Yogi said, it ain't over 'til it's over. Igawa overtook Karstens the last week and a half, and he deserves it.
Congrats to Kei "Master K" Igawa...
Good spring performance and getting the highest # of Ks for the pitching staff...![]()
Let's go for #28! A-Rod for 2010 AL MVP!

It's kind of dumb in a way. Igawa isn't really a rookie. Now we have no standing to complain if Fatsuzaka wins the RoY.

Igawa is really not a rookie imo spending a number of years in Japan as a top pitcher. He was in the Japanese Major League`s not in their minor league`s.My vote would go to Bronson Sardinha.
I liked it that Al Leiter still wears the watch he won when he got this award!![]()
tabata has the highest upside.
Bring tea for the Tillerman; Steak for the son; Wine for the woman who made the rain come; Seagulls sing your hearts away; 'Cause while the sinners sin, the children play ...

Agree with you..
If it's not Igawa, that's not good....
