I'm guessing this one's mostly a B squad game, being after a night game and on the road. Probably not televised
Edit:
Mussina vs. Hudson
Damon
Jeter
Cano
Giambi
Sardinha
Chavez
Reese
Nieves

Damon grounds to 1st

Jeter, "The People's Choice" (credit Atlanta announcer for that title), also grounds out

aaaaand Cano grounds out. Exciting, that was like 7 pitches. Guess Hudson's 2-seamer is working
This game is on YES now!Originally Posted by Jace

Moose had Renteria 0-2 and Renteria doubles inside 3rd

Other pitchers for Yankees: DeSalvo, Proctor, Britton
Where was that!??!
Moose is yelling at the HP Ump in a spring training game... I love it!!!

Cano makes a nice play on a Chipper Jones hard ground ball, 2 down
Moose leaving it up today

Andruw Jones RBI single

groundout to Jeter ends inning, 1-0 Atlanta
Gameday starting to keep up with the action much better today.

Giambino!!!
Didn't he take Hudson deep during the season?

Giambi HR, left center, opposite field HR. Hotness
wow..Giambi to opposite field..POWER
Let's hope the ATL radio announcers are more professional than those Cleveland hacks.
SI: Do you have a secret ambition?
Igawa: That's secret.

They've been pretty solid so far. Its helped that they've talked pretty glowingly about Yankee prospects, heheOriginally Posted by Mark19

Groundout, Sardinha at 3rd with 1 out
Good AB for Reese against Huddy

Basehit Kevin Reese, drives in Sardinha.
The Southerners...
Kelvin DeLeon(RF), Abraham Almonte(CF), Jose Tabata(LF), Marcos Vechionacci(3B), Jose Pirela(SS), Prilys Cuello(2B), Raymond Nunez(1B), Jesus Montero(C), Carlos Urena(DH).

Nieves hits into DP, end of inning, 2-1 Yanks

Nieves grounds into a double play to end the inning.

Francouer opposite field shot, apparently it either hit off Sardinha's glove or the top of the wall
Groundout, 1 out
Gameday´s in mid season form, excellent!Originally Posted by OldYankeeFan

oops, sounded like it went off Sardinha's glove

Based on what you've seen so far in ST, who do you want see the 4th outfielder if Melky has to start due to injury (like if Abreu isn't ready for opening day, for example?)
Kevin Reese or Kevin Thompson? Or maybe Sardinha?
I think it will be KT because of his toolsy-ness (bunting, pop, speed) but Reese and Sardinha have been impressive as well.

Double, 2 flyouts, inning over
If the Braves are gonna compete with Mets and Phillies, they need Hudson and Hampton to rebound. It is completely possible, imo, although unlikely that both have 30+ starts of solid pitching.

Well, he's a better hitter and baserunner than Reese, I'm guessing he's a better fielder. Sardinha should probably play an entire season at AAA so he can get a full season of at-bats just in case he develops enough to be a major league hitter (I dont think he's a very good fielder)Originally Posted by simmy886

Right I agree. How is KT defensively?Originally Posted by Jace
Unfortunately neither KT nor Sardinha have succeeded yet at the AAA level, hopefully this is the year and we get some outfield depth in our system so we can have the same type of reinforcements as last year when Guiel and Bernie stepped up and produced like adequate major leaguers (as opposed to a guy like Andy Phillips, although that's another position altogether)
I guess DeSalvo didn't get sent down to minor league camp along with White. Huh, who'da thunk it?
Jeter 2nd and Cano 3rd. A sign of things to come 4 years down the road?

I get the feeling he has good range and makes ok reads, but is erratic. Should be fine in the corner positions, solid arm. Probably average to below average in CF. I'm not an expert on this, someone else could tell you betterOriginally Posted by simmy886
IMO Unless someone did a scientific, convincing study, your opinion is as good as anyone's. I actually see the same thing. My perception tells me he's a bit like Cano, he can make some nice plays and then some ugly ones. I haven't seen enough of him yet though.Originally Posted by Jace
what are the radar readings on Moose´s Fastball?

Damon SB, Jeter strikes out, Cano groundout. 2.5 innings over, score 2-2
If they are less than 92-93 then we should DFA him immediately.Originally Posted by metalboy15
