    Forum Party VIII

Yes, it's like the Super Bowl, it gets Roman Numerals!

I'd like to try to order the tickets for this year's party sooner rather than later, because I know it's not going to be easy. Please let me know if you think you'd be able to come to the party and whether you'd rather go in June, July, or August. Frankly, I'd prefer June - either 6/9 against Pittsburgh or 6/30 against Oakland (bear in mind that's the weekend before 4th of July). But...I know from experience that it is usually cooler and more pleasant weather in June than July or August. I just want to get an idea of approximately how many tickets to get - I was thinking 50, but I don't want to over-order.

For those of you who haven't been to a Forum Party, here's the basics. We get a group block of seats and have a pre-game tailgate buffet in the parking lot featuring cold heroes, salads, and desserts. You can also partake in the buffet without buying a ticket in the block of seats if you already have a game ticket (or if you want to just go for the party and not the game, which I know at least one person has done in the past). You pay me the cost of the ticket, a nominal food charge, and shipping for the tickets (which are sent via certified mail).

Further details will be forthcoming as I get them worked out, but I wanted to start the ball rolling early this year.

    Keep smiling and party on...

Always a good time Ally, I put down August.. although it's just my preference. I should be available whenever this gets set up.

I say June (or early July) because it can be sooo hot in July and Aug. Last year it was brutally hot if I remember correctly - I didn't go but I remember reading about it.

I always say I want to come then end up chickening out! Maybe going to that game in May with the ladies will change that.

Anyway, I think June might be rough for people whose kids play baseball. At least the beginning anyway. I don't remember off the top of my head when it ends.

August is usually way too hot, but July is usually not bad unless we're having a heat wave.

I voted for June - June 6th would be better for me than June 30th.

June for me is a crapshoot. It's my worst month of the year.

But there's always a chance I can make it, so don't plan anything on my account.

When will George return? I think that Trish & krystl are hiding away from me, since everytime I say I'm going, they never show up.

Will there be any showings of a freakishly tall NY Rangers & hard rock fan?

Can Archer show up? We'll need someone to liven up the show!!!

I would love to try to come to this. I voted for July but June may be good if it is the end of June but I am usually on vacation the July 4th week and then I go to New York for the rest of the month of July. The latter part of July is best otherwise I will be back in L.A.

Allie, I'm available for all of June and all of July except for the last weekend in July. I am also available in August till about the 15th. After that I am tied up for the rest of August and almost all of September. I need five tickets and will send the check as soon as I know the dates/ total costs etc.
Hopefully you can settle on a date soon because I'm still working on early summer fishing trips to Lake George and to Alaska but I'll hold off on firming up those dates till after I know the date of the Game/Party

Thanks again for all the hard work of you/JP/your team.

I would like to get an idea now, and then once I arrange the tickets and post the exact date, it's first come, first served to get the tickets.

Well I'm getting married at the end of July, so I doubt getting away for a weekend in July will be feasible so I voted June.

Plus, last year it was brutal that day. Thank god for the extra waters that we grabbed on our way to the Stadium.

If I remembered correctly, you were sitting right behind me at the baseball game during last year's forum party. Hopefully you and others that I met could make it again. Congrats about the wedding. Boy a lot surely happened in one year huh.

Yeah we were all around one-another. It was a great time. I'll be more talkative this year. I hope I get to go this year since it looks like it'll be the only game I'll get to see this season.

I remember sitting next to you at the first forum party. We had T-shirts that year, and yours had the incorrect spelling.

Yeah I remember the incorrect spelling. The following year, Deb gave me a shirt with the correct spelling. I still have both T-shirts. People laugh at me when I wear it (mostly because they are thinking it refers to something sexual).

So are you coming this year? At last years Forum Party, we sat in the bleachers. It was absolutely brutal. I don't think I could sit through another one of those because as a ChocolateGirl, I don't need to become any darker than I already am. A 4PM game would have been a lot better though. Oh well.

It was brutally hot, but JP and the crew again outdid themselves on the food and drink; I had a chance to take one of my grandsons to his first Yankee game and I got to see Andy Phillips hit a home run.

June would be best, but another consideration would be a 4pm Saturday game to allow for more time to meet and greet. Unless you arrive very early- a 1pm game doesn't allow alot of time for tailgating. I haven't browsed the schedule, but if memory serves me most of those 4pm games are in July/August.

    Ally,
Glad to see this is being talked about! Either date in June would work for me. Once you pick a date, I'll keep you posted on the number of tickets I'd need. Hopefully we'll all be skinny Minnie's and won't recognize each other by then!

I will try, once again, to make this happen this year. Haven't succeeded so far but who knows. I will say that around July 4th is usually when I head to Upstate NY each year, and this year I'll be there the last weekend in July, too (but it's booked - golf trip to the Adirondacks). Just set a date and I hope to work it out. And thatnks again for all the effort.

Please remember: I need a seat in the "gun-toting" section!
Thanks for the memories, George. You made the Yankees what they are today... Champions!

I say late August....... I'm flying out to NY probably in March to see family and some friends. But right now, I'm trying to end up going to school on the east coast next late August. So I'm down for August.

I have a wedding on 6/9 so the 30th works better for me. It should be cooler then but if it's planned for July or August, I'd try to attend as well.

Ally - Considering how HOT it was last year - June works for me....

July and August are hard, because I am taking a weeks vacation in either the 3rd week in July, or the first full week in August, (still hashing out the details...to celebrate my 40th...)

Just let me know and I'll make sure to be there....e-mail me...

Probably early June... though actually, I have no clue what my post-graduation life is gonna look like yet.

    August

my choice doesn't matter though, because probably won't make it for another year
