So I saw that Prince is doing it and it really isn't that surprising since it seems like the Superbowl people like to put old people on the halftime stage so they don't take off their clothes. But Prince? When was the last time he had a hit song? 1988?
So I was trying to think of current bands/artists that would at least put on a decent show. Now I know it is impossible to appeal to everyone but I think there are bands currently touring that sell out stadiums that people would rather see than Prince. Now most of the artists I thought of aren't even bands that I even listen too (i like indie stuff), but bands I think that could carry a halftime show.
Jay-Z: He can clean up his music so that an entire audience can enjoy it.
Kelly Clarkson + Carrie Underwood maybe the other American Idol winners: Would especially be a good idea for Superbowl that is on Fox.
Red Hot Chilli Peppers: Have some upbeat songs that alot of people know, but I could see the networks being nervous about them performing live.
Bon Jovi: Not someone who I like but he at least has had songs that have been radio hits lately.
Any country singers like Rascal Flatts or Kenny Chesney that sell out across the country.
Coldplay: Probably a bit of a downer but they have some upbeat songs.
Ok those are some of my suggestions, I have some more ideas but who do you guys think woud be good?
