I saw him pitch at the stadium against the Orioles....gave up a first-pitch homer to Ken Singleton then went the rest of the way and gave up nothing.

    No cause of death?

Here's the boxscore from that game:

Edit: The game was at Shea! I remember Singleton's homer going to right-center but not landing in the old bleachers.....now I know why.

Sorry to hear about Pat Dobson. Man, 64 is too young. Didn't he win 19 for the Yanks in '74 or '75? He was a pretty good pitcher. RIP

I read Lukemia somewhere. I can't recall where I saw it.

Apparently, he died one day after learning he had leukemia. Not sure if that was the cause of death or not. I remember that Orioles rotation of the early '70s and they were unbeatable. Of course, having Brooksie and Belanger on the left side made Cuellar and McNally very lucky.....

I really enjoyed watching Dobson pitch. Lots of smarts.
I heard this today...Did Coltrane actually exist? This is like being blind for 50 years, regaining sight, and then peering directly at the sun.

I remember the old dobber... big overhand curveball.

    Rest in peace, Pat.

One of the four 20 game winners on that great Orioles staff in the early 70`s.
