It's kind of funny that us Irish fans were cheering for UM last week and now they're cheering for us this week.

Be nice if we can get a first down here at least
Hope Charlie can recruit a new one. We cannot afford to go for it at 4 and 9 on the opening drive in a hostile environment.Originally Posted by TheMick@ND

Should have had a TD on the 1st drive....Quinn missed McKnight. Predictably, our defense shows nothing and lets USC easily march down and score a TD.
Its unbelievable how bad the defense is. They would have trouble stopping a HS team.

we are in trouble. We didn't even show up
McKnight drops an easy pass that would have been a 1st down....and we allow a big punt return. And now a big pass to Smith, 1 yard away from 14-0.
The blowout is underway.

Nope. If I'm USC, I don't even bother with running plays (other than a 1st and 1-inch to go).Originally Posted by Cardinal Fan

I wish charly would cover his mouth. I can lip rwad him very clearly.
Will Jeff go into the NFL Darft or will he stick with Baseball?
Well at least we are on the board
Condoms 14 Irish 3
A FG does absolutely nothing for us there. Have to match USC TD for TD...and hope they get sloppy and have some unforced errors.
FG's are worthless in this game for us.

ND doesnt even deserve to be in a BCS bowl after the way they are playing. They arent on USC's level.

What the f*ck is our offense doing?? This is the worst I've seen Quinn play in 3 years. And the playcalling has just been god awful.
And please bench McKnight or put some glue on his hands.

Lets face facts....ND isnt that good of a team. They fattened up against a soft schedule. They got blown out by good teams (USC, Michigan), won some games they shouldnt have (UCLA, Michigan St)
This team just isnt good, and majorly underachieved this year. I wish we could stop playing USC every year. I dont wanna play them anymore. Tired of them owning us and beating us every year.

Nd is now 10-2 after get their butt kicked again by a good team and since their wins came against teams that were 2-24 vs the top 25 does anyone still think they should get a BCS bid?![]()

You can talk about point spreads all you want, but this is football, a couple things go wrong and you lose by 20 instead of 7, it doesn't make much difference to me. I just care about winning or losing. And they still get a BCS bid because non-championship bowls are meaningless except for money, which ND is always good for. Who cares anyways, you win a BCS bowl and you get to say, Yay, we're number 3 or 4, sweet.Originally Posted by ny

As long as they have the biggest fanbase and a large audience that hates them (but still will watch their games) then yes. Notre Dame is a huge draw. People either love them or hate them, but both groups always seem to tune into their games. Ratings are everything ny.Originally Posted by ny

Seriously though, I know college football's always been like this and I've said before, I'd like us to win a bowl game, but who really cares. The hope I have for the Yankees, the Broncos, the Irish, the Nuggets, etc. is always to win it all. I wouldn't really care if the Yankees and Twins met in the AL third place series, who would? So in the same light, I just can't really get that excited about a meaningless bowl game. Does anyone agree with me or am I just in a bad mood right now?
I agree. That is why there needs to be a playoff system. Every game would mean something. Now whomever Notre Dame plays it is for nothing but pride. That is all well and fine but at the end of the day it won't mean anything for Notre Dame or their opponent in terms of being the best team in college football.Originally Posted by TheMick@ND

Maybe Notre Dame should let Bob Davie prepare them for the USC game every year. He had their number for three straight years.Originally Posted by dabomb2045

ND is going to have a very tough year in 2007. However, if Clausen doesnt ................ his pants and Weis can surround him with good talent, that can turn around fast.

I know Weis is an offensive guru....but he has to find a way to recruit playmakers on defense. We need speed at linebacker and in the secondary. If he cant do that....then we will never be able to reach the level the other top teams are on.

Now we have 4 bowls with 8 teams. So your other teams in are: Michigan, FL, Aub, LSU, Ark, OK, and I'll even throw Rutgers in, leaves one more spot for ND.
Of course, that's not the system and I know we have conference tie-ins etc. Still, given all of that Notre Dame belongs in a BCS bowl. The only teams on this list with no debate BCS-wise are OSU, Mich, and USC (two of them are taken in the title game). After that, there's everyone else and its all up for debate.
