People change email addresses all the time for a variety of reasons. Please take the time to check the email address that you have on file to make sure that it is current and functional. We really need a way to contact members from time to time, and failure to keep a functional email on file leads to a member being banned until we are contacted with a current, working address. I know most of you utilize the "signature" feature, so I have figured out how to modify the code to have the "show signature" box checked by default when you post a reply. It still doesn't work when posting a new topic, but I'm working on that, too.
I spent all of Friday Afternoon & Night, and into Saturday Morning sorting through the code for the forum script (software). I've eliminated some of the forums, don't fret they're all still there with all the posts, I just turned them "off". I also renamed some forums, and some switched categories. My main motivation for doing this was because I think visitors were intimidated by all of the forums...they didn't really know where to begin. As the season starts, and the visitors start flocking , I may turn some of them back on. For now, I think we'll keep it simple. Let me know what you think...

I was a little worried, with all of the modifications that I have done, that upgrading would be a problem. I didn't want to have to "re-do" everything I've done, but the newest version has fixes for some major security issues, so I felt I needed to upgrade regardless. But thanks to the wonders of the computer age, I found a program that went through and compared the code line by line, and let me choose which parts I wanted to keep or not keep. If any of you are interested, this board was upgraded to version 5.44a, and everything seems to be working fine. I also *finally* figured out how to have the Signature Box checked by default when posting a topic. Hi Clipper- Unfortunatly, it is an advertisement. I too find it extremely annoying, and am contacting the ad agency to cut the ad.
