Post anything related to baseball. If it doesn't fit in the Yankees Discussion forum, it fits here.

As some of you may have already seen... I saw this little tidbit on rotoworld. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=MLB&id=2470 "I always talk to my wife about being interested in playing in front of the African-American fans and trying to get the African Americans back to playing the game," he said. "If I go to Atlanta or D.C. and make a difference that way, I would love it. Trust me -- D.C. is very interesting to me as well as Atlanta." Hunter also...

Honestly, once the Yankees were eliminated , I lost a lot of interest in the playoffs. I would prefer the sawx don't win, but if they were to win, it wouldn't be a gut punch. My main focus is on the Yanks and their winning. Once they lost, the eventual winner won't matter that much one way or the other. Of course, that might change if they did win and we had to listen to an off season of " new reign " comments. It might be different if they had eliminated us- but I felt this year that we would...

There are still good tickets available for Game 1 tomorrow. http://arizona.diamondbacks.mlb.com/ari/ticketing/postseason_2007.jsp On Stub Hub ticket prices are not out of sight for the games in Denver. http://www.stubhub.com/colorado-rockies-playoff-tickets/?event_id=474719 Cleveland is getting up there ( no doubt because of the Red Sox lunatics ) http://www.stubhub.com/cleveland-indians-playoff-tickets/

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3065414 He never made the big trade over his tenure. He was successful however.
My father and I sat down to watch the game the other night (Sox-Cleveland), and we were both complaining about all the commercials. After they were finally done and the game started, he asked me if we'd somehow missed the singing of the national anthem, or if Fox just chose not to show it. It strikes me that it's been awhile since I've seen any broadcast of the singing of the Star-Spangled Banner. Of course, I usually don't catch the beginning of games, so who knows. Anyone else? ...
Over at SoSH a link to Tangotiger's website was put up and a request for participation was put out. He's running a community projection and is looking for as many participants as he can get. Simply click on this link: http://www.tangotiger.net/community/ then select your team and fill out the table. You can do more than your team if you like, and you only have to fill in the players you feel comfortable making projections for. This could be a very interesting project, so please take a few...

Who do you think it should be?
Dear Cleveland Indians, You recently dumped my favorite team from the playoffs (even if the media seems to think the Yankees lost more than you won). You deserve to advance, since you beat the Yankees in just about every way there is over those games. Sad as I am, I am really pulling for you to get your first championship in over a century. Please keep doing what you've been doing and take care of the Red Sox starting tomorrow night. Here's a list of things I'd like to see starting...

The Tigers announced today that they have picked up catcher Pudge Rodriguez’s $13-million option for next season. Rodriguez, whose arrival prior to the 2004 season returned the franchise to relevance, would have become a free agent if the club had declined the option and paid him a $3-million buyout. http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071009/SPORTS02/71009027
Exercising what I think was just good common sense, Rogers displays the kind of programming acumen that leads me to hope that someday they will be awarded the rights to the ALDS in the US as well. I'd much rather see Hooters girls that the Sox win anything, and I'll bet that the announcers of the bikini contest were a lot less annoying than Chip Caray. http://lioninoil.blogspot.com/2007/10/canadian-baseball-fans-get-bikinis.html
MLB set up a new site: www.actober.com Pretty cool stuff. There's a video of the actor, James Caan talking about his love for the Yankees. They ask him about our chances this year, he talks about Joba and the pitching holding up...he ends with: "To all my Boston friends...SCREW You. Go Yankees!" :roflmao:
Just caught my eye because of the Yankees connection. http://www.globesports.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20071009.wsptdenbo9/GSStory/GlobeSportsBaseball/?page=rss&id=RTGAM.20071009.wsptdenbo9
Get Well Milo http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/5199510.html Longtime Houston Astros radio announcer Milo Hamilton suffered a heart attack this weekend and is recovering in a Houston hospital today. Astros' senior vice president of communications Jay Lucas said the 80-year-old underwent an angioplasty and is doing well. He should have been the Cubs announcer but his old rival Harry Caray stole the job from him. He has seethed in Houston ever since. Best known for......
