Notes: Mets OF Timo Perez missed his third game due to injury. "Timo is close. He has a strained groin he was playing with and it wasn't getting any better." Geez. Maybe he ought to stop playing with it for a while! http://www.sportingnews.com/baseball/scoreboard/20010325/recap/305314.html

Sosa is in a great position to catch and or pass Mac this season. He is in a lineup with protection in front and behind for the first time since 98. With Young and Mueller or Gut followed by Coomer,Stairs, Sosa will fit nicely in the 4 hole with Hundley and hopefully a healthy White behind him. This is a good lineup.His contract nonsense is over he hit 50 -138-320 last year in that circus ,has averaged 59 for 3 years,I got a feelin this could be a MONSTER year.
Hey, did anyone SEE that dove that got pegged by the pitch as both crossed homeplate in a game yesterday?? I only caught a glimpse as I was coming into the livingroom , as the sportscaster was disgusted, and I'd missed most of the story!! It was an ancredible visual, though, but I have NO idea which game or pitcher or batter that was, as I'd missed the story... anyone have details? :lol::eek::lol::lol::scared::lol:
PWAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! :lol::lol::lol:

Griffey hurt while rounding third By JOE KAY AP Sports Writer March 26, 2001 HAINES CITY, Fla. (AP) -- Ken Griffey Jr. had to be helped off the field Monday after he appeared to pull his hamstring while rounding third base. The Cincinnati Reds center fielder was bothered earlier this spring by a sore left hamstring. There was no immediate word on the severity of the injury.
Rumor has it that now Manny Ramirez has gone down with a hamstring injury. Looks like the BoSux are going to be limping (couldn't resist :lol: ) into the regular season. If I didn't dislike them so much I'd almost feel sorry for them.

In yesterday's game vs. the Mutts Irabu was so slow to the plate that the Mutts stole four bases in the first inning :lol: I guess the 25 lbs. he lost isn't helping him much.
Buh Bye Stay Puft Marshmellowman :lol: http://www.usatoday.com/sports/baseball/alnews.htm TUCSON — David Wells insists he will retire after this season if the Chicago White Sox don't exercise his $9 million option for 2002. ''This is my last stop,'' Wells said Sunday. ''If they pick it up, they pick it up. If not, I will retire.'' Wells, acquired in January from Toronto, will make $8.25 million this year and Chicago would have to pay a $1.25 million buyout if it declines the option. ''I'm...

Channel 4 broadcaster Bob Lobel At 12:25 pm on Sports Radio WEEI in Boston says the Red Sox and Nomar are "inching" closer toward surgery. The surgery, which would be on a split tendon in Nomar's right wrist, could leave Nomar out of the lineup until August. Although a final decision has not yet been announced, such an announcement is possible within days or even hours according to Bob Lobel.
http://www.sptimes.com/News/032201/Sports/For_Rays___unbalanced.shtml By JOHN ROMANO © St. Petersburg Times, published March 22, 2001 TAMPA -- The Devil Rays met up with the Yankees at Legends Field on Wednesday night, one of just two games they play against the defending World Series champions this spring. If only their regular-season schedule were so light. Major League Baseball has adopted an unbalanced schedule for 2001, placing a greater emphasis on games within divisions.

Higginson's agent, Ed Hayes, said he was asking for a little more than $40 million over four years, but the Tigers'...

http://www.usatoday.com/sports/baseball/stories/2001-03-14-umpires.htm By Mel Antonen, USA TODAY MARYVALE, Ariz. — Doug Eddings is a baby-faced, third-year major league umpire who does aerobics, studies videos and quizzes the guys who have been around a while, all with the idea of improving his fundamentals. Oh baby x 5!!!!! This Spring For Melvin: Mora Babies, Opportunity New York Daily News March 22, 2001 All of a sudden, Melvin Mora has a lot more on his mind than a new position, a new cap with a bird on it and a new city.
