Yesterday Sabathia and Price each allowed 0 ER in 8 innings. Today Nova and Garza each allowed 6 ER in 4 2/3 innings. When was the last time that happened in consecutive Yankee games? When was the last time that happened in consecutive games of a series between any teams?

do you guys know where I could find the 1952 world series leather/wool varsity jacket. this jacket was worn by jay z last year during game 2 of the ws. It is made by g111. tHey make the majority of the other yankee commerative championship jackets.:P

I looked at the Yankees, Twins, and Rays remaining schedules and I could see them all finishing about 98-64 with a three way tie for the best record in baseball. The NL could hypothetically have all four playoff teams with the same record. At least one team that is currently within 2 games of the best record in the NL will miss the playoffs since there are five of those teams.

Who was the last team (if it has ever happened before) to have three pitchers with 1 inning per team game and an ERA under 3.00? Chris Carpenter is third on St. Louis with a 2.90 ERA as of now.

With Wang (2006 and 2007), Mussina (2008), and Sabathia (2009 and 2010), the Yankees have had a pitcher win at least 19 games for five consecutive years. Pettitte (2000 and 2003), Clemens (2001), and Wells (2002) gave the Yankees a four year streak earlier in the 2000s. No other team has had a four or more year streak like that in the 2000s. Before the Yankees, the previous team to have a pitcher with at least 19 wins for at least five consecutive years was Atlanta for six years from 1995 to...

Babe Ruth only won 1 MVP award and that was in 1923. He hit .356-60-164 in 1927 and didn't receive one vote. Lou Gehrig, who deservingly won it 27, had a pretty good year himself. It wasn't until 1931 before Babe Ruth even received any MVP votes. In 1926, George Burns won it with .358-4-114-97 runs. Ruth hit.372-47-146-139 runs. In 1928, Micky Cochrane won it with .293-10-57-92 runs. Ruth hit .323-54-142 with an amazing 163 runs.

Alex Rodriguez, Mark Teixeira, and Robinson Cano could all finish Top 10 in MLB in RBI. In 2005 the Yankees came close with Rodriguez fourth, Gary Sheffield sixth, and Hideki Matsui tied for eleventh 1 RBI behind a tie for eighth, ninth, and tenth. Jay Buhner, Edgar Martinez, and Tino Martinez of Seattle in 1995 were the last trio of teammates to do that. It probably was more common when there were less teams.

A.J. Burnett is below .500 and it's possible he and Javier Vazquez will both finish below .500 with enough innings to qualify (162). The last Yankee to finish below .500 with enough innings to qualify was Orlando Hernandez in 2000. The last time two Yankees did it was Jim Abbott and Melido Perez in 1993.

From August 9 to August 13, the Yankees just played five consecutive games decided by 1 run. The previous time the Yankees did that was August 8 through August 12, 2005. Both sets of games included exactly two games vs. Texas.
