Who's coming up? Who's going down? What's happening with the Yankees Minor League clubs?

I just did a little research on Donzell. He's a switch-hitting 25 yr. old speedy Center Fielder. He sounds like just what we need right now. He was going to make the roster over H-Rod, but came down with a groin injury (which is now healed). In the Arizona Fall League last year he made the All Prospect List. In 127 AB he hit .354, led the League in hits with 45, 5 triples, 18BB, 18 SB, 29 runs scored with an OBP of .435 and SLG of .543. Why don't we replace H-Rod with Donzell now that...
Congrats to Randy! Columbus pitcher Randy Keisler was chosen as one of the players of the week in the International League. Keisler threw a shutout in his only appearance, striking out four and walking one while allowing just one hit in a 4-0 victory over Indianapolis. The left hander had a no-hitter through 62/3 innings before allowing a double, then set down the final seven batters.
D'Angelo Jimenez has been moved to ss, so I wonder if he's now trade bait?
http://www.freepress.com/ Drew Henson: One ball, but still juggling Former U-M QB finds diamond life has its own playbook June 20, 2001 BY BILL L. ROOSE FREE PRESS SPORTS WRITER COLUMBUS, Ohio-A year ago, Drew Henson was learning to hit a curveball and watching football game film in his free time at Norwich in the Double-A Eastern League. He lived in an apartment. This week, he's trying to acclimate himself at Triple-A Columbus, the top team in the New York Yankees' farm system. He...
It's on 623 if you have Directv. NESN. It's the fourth inning and Keisler is on the mound. Sorry for being late, but I just found it. Check it out!!
http://www.timesdispatch.com/sports/MGBJ5XMVHOC.html It hasn't happened yet, but Drew Henson knows he will miss football, for sure by Labor Day. He's prepared. Henson began looking ahead at the fork in the road years ago. Baseball or football? "I love to get up every day and play a game," Henson said. "That's always been more attractive to me than what's involved in playing a football season." So instead of this quarterback preparing for his senior year at Michigan, from which he...
The game just ended on NESN. Our kids beat the Sux' kids. An omen? ;) Widger (8), Thames (6), and Henson (7) all went deep and Brian Rogers won the game to up his record to 6-1. Good job!
Here's a couple shots of Andy Phillips during the Navigators game at City Island against the Harrisburg Senators...
This is kind of a neat site to check out pics from several different minor league ballparks around the country. http://www.digitalballparks.com/
Anyone watching Minor League Mondays on YES? Some familiar names playing for the Clippers tonight ... Seabol, Henson, Thames and Juan Rivera (seems to be all healed, he's batting something like .345). The game was tied at five all and went to extra innings ... Louisville finally scored a run in the top of the thirteenth ... and with an outfielder (I think they said) now pitching for the Bats, the Clippers have just tied it again at six all ... after the Bats's second baseman dropped a popup...
First-time champions in the International League. After two walkoff wins and one walkoff loss, they won the decisive fourth game by a score of 20-2! Phil Hughes struck out 12 in five innings, and only allowed one run. They're showing the trophy-awarding ceremony now!
Hi everyone... :) I have tickets to this weekend's series between Trenton and the Binghamton Mets, and I figured this was the place to go to find out who I should be watching for on the Trenton team. I have really good seats and I will probably have a good chance at getting autographs. I wish I knew more about the minors but I have trouble just keeping up with the Yankees as it is, I've been so busy!
I just checked to see how out farm teams were doing and I noticed fireballing Proctor's stats: Scott Proctor AAA Colombus W-1 L-0 ERA-0 G-2 IP-4 H-1 BB-2 K-5 Also Catching prospect Navarro: Dioner Navarro AA Battle Creek G-3 AB-10 R-1 H-4 BB-2 K-2 AVG-.400 OBP-.500 SLG .333 OPS- .833 I would have given the stats for Eric Duncan but Staten Island hasn't played a game yet.

Tomorrow is Dime-A-Dog Night at Cooper Stadium in Columbus, when all hot dogs are only 10 cents each. We always have promotions like this here in AAA land. Now that I'm back from college, I'll definitely go if I can find someone to go with me. It'll be good to see our young stars (especially the highly talked-about Nick Johnson) develop while I'm paying very little on stadium food. I'll let you all know if I go and how the game goes.
Well, it's been a while, but I finally made it to my first Clippers game of the season. Today's opponent was Bud's Indianapolis Indians, with lefty Alex Graman starting against Jose Garcia. Graman ran into a lot of trouble early, allowing five runs on five hits in the first inning. But Columbus quickly narrowed the gap when they loaded the bases in the 1st, and CF Karim Garcia hit a grand slam. The Clippers tied it in the 2nd when 1B Kurt Bierek led off the inning with a double and scored...
Tonight, I made another trip to Cooper Stadium to see the Clippers take on the Indianapolis Indians. The San Diego Chicken performed during the game, but the action on the field topped his entertaining act. Chien-Ming Wang made his third start in AAA, against Indy's Matt Childers, and it would prove to be a classic. Wang had an inauspicious start to the game, as a single, a wild throw on a pickoff attempt, and a hit batter put runners on the corners with none out. But Wang escaped the jam...
"The New York Yankees have purchased the contract of catcher Chris Grossman, who hit .314 in his only season with the Sioux City Explorers in 2005." "The 24-year-old Californian not only led the X's in hitting with his .314 average, but also drove in 48 runs, collected 100 hits and scored 37 runs." http://www.siouxcityjournal.com/articles/2005/11/25/sports/sports/859532ea76858f9a862570c40017ece4.txt Let's not get ahead of ourselves... He was NOT quoted as saying that he's looking...
It seems to me that the Yankees for some reason do not want to bring them up. I see more of an urgency on Thames considering he's 25 years old. If he tears up AAA the way he did with AA I could see him or his agent pissed off. Rivera could go another year or two cause he's 23. I can't see either of them staying on the farm too much longer. Do you guys think they are trade bait? I hope not...
International League (AAA) LHP Brandon Claussen - NYY 12 IP, 9 H, 5 BB, 6 K Florida State League (High-A) RHP Jason Arnold - NYY 10 IP, 5 H, 2 BB, 13 K, .90 ERA
converted outfielder? Hope he does this well all season! He's a guy who gets up in the mid 90's right? TAMPA IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA R.Bicondoa (W,1-1) 5.2 5 4 3 4 2 0 4.50 W.Cooksey 2.1 1 0 0 1 2 0 0.00 Y.Brazoban 1.0 0 0 0 1 2 0 1.42
I know that he has spent the last two years in AAA but is there a chance of him starting in AA? I still have a little faith in him for the simple fact that he was rushed through the system. We all talk about it and all know that if he spent another year AA after he performed well in a shortened AA season two years ago he might be in the bronx right now.....
Can anyone tell me about this guy?
Throwing May or this Redding guy? I do. Pull the kids aside let them know they are going back immediately.....have fun and just throw and I would bet that they would do better than either Redding or May.
