Who's coming up? Who's going down? What's happening with the Yankees Minor League clubs?
Well so much for seeing Harts pitch. That was a fast release. Here are the latest moves as per BA http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/minors/news/26919.html
I hate to start a new thread but...this gem comes from the Journal News'(Westchester County,NY paper)baseball columnist Peter Abraham http://www.nyjournalnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20051002/SPORTS01/510020305/1108/SPORTS01 pabraham@thejournalnews.com Is this guy kidding?Yesterday was October 1 and not April Fool's Day
Said the Duncan and Hughes were potential chips for the trade deadline since he didn't think the Yankees were going to be able sustain their current pitching staff with Pavano always hurt, Mussina as old as he is throwing only 86-88 MPH, and Farnsworth throwing 91 mph. What do you guys think? I personally think it would anyone other than these two guys. I
I took a couple hours last night to go through both systems and see how they compare. I consider Borderline prospects to be guys possibly worth watching that have obvious flaws or dont have much reputation as prospects. This is especially for guys who were too old for the leagues and usually collapse at higher levels (Pinckney, Ehlers, Jones, Urick, Natale). For pitchers, I'm sure Sox fans will be annoyed with the number of guys put into the borderline/non-prospect catagory, but they seem to...
Here is a very good article on the reliever the Yankees did draft last year, J.Brent Cox. The Yankees think highly of him and his abilities.. I particularliy like the comparisons against his predecessor Houston Street This is encouraging to hear, the Yankees did better drafting Cox than Hensen, regardless of the sentiment at the time.
Any One know who he is? He's listed as a SS.His name sounds familiar.

Not sure much about him, but may be an indication that the Yankees are worried about Posada's schnozz enough for the first few weeks of the season. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.asp?sport=MLB&leaguenum=&id=3068
For two days, Luis Garcia has played OF. I checked http://www.yankeesprospects.com/ Here is the box score for March 23, 2006. http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20060323&content_id=1360858&vkey=spt2006gamer&fext=.jsp&c_id=nyy Does anyone have any relevant information on him?
You know the guy, drafted 7th round last year...wasn't offered enough to buy him out of college, a catcher...everyone was up in arms here. http://hurricanesports.collegesports.com/sports/m-basebl/mtt/garabedian_alex00.html http://hurricanesports.collegesports.com/sports/m-basebl/stats/2004-2005/teamcume.html Eddy Rodriguez ended up beating Alex out for the majority of ABs at catcher, and when Alex did play (which was still a fair amount), he was the worst starter on the team:...
http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/hschool/story/403457p-341733c.html Nice article. I know many want(ed) him in the 1st round. I've got a feeling he won't be around then.
.....
As per the latest issue of BA the Yanks have signed Casadiego.Any Info on this guy ????
Some questions to consider: What does this mean for Phil? What are the rules for 40 man roster players- does he need to be called up in a certain period of time now? Does this mean starting the year in Trenton and moving to Columbus quicker for a possible cup of coffee in September?
Just from a few years of reading posts in this and other forums I realize that most people don't have high expectations from Kevin, but there was a nice quote in today's Post attributed to Larry Bowa and Joe Torre NYP This was in today's NY Post, but after browsing around I found this same quote from MLB.com posted in a thread in another forum here.
Back pain aint going away, probably going into surgery soon More here :( http://yankees.scout.com/2/509109.html Oh well.

Tyler Clippard RHP Age 20 Florida State League vs RHB: .236 vs LHB: .196 The fly-ball tendencies are very evident, however there is hope. There was a fair amount of improvement during the final two months of the season. Not surprisingly, as his flyball tendencies improved, his HR rate and ERA did as well. Especially during July where he struck out a few less batters but drastically improved his G/F and LD%. However, he had two starts that drove up the 2nd half stats near the end of...
Jeff Marquez RHP Age 20 South Atlantic League vs RHB: .261 vs LHB: .252 Couple things to take from it. #1 his control improved as the season progressed. #2 his strikeouts are not as big of a problem as it looks on paper. This is mostly due to his extreme G/F ratio due to a nasty sinker. However, it seems that his struggles in June led him to change his approach a bit, and as a result his G/F took a dip, and then following a bounce back July, began to improve back close to his season...
According to Gammons, the Yankees have a delegation in Nicaragua and have a deal in place to sign 17 year old Danilo Alvarez. He doesnt give any extended information beyond that though. I found in another article on him: http://www.elnuevodiario.com.ni/2006/02/14/deportes/12630 From my rough spanish and attempts at translation, he's 16 (as of mid February) he's represented by Scott Boras, and he's looking to make more than 700K as a bonus. He's may also have been tutored by former major...
Christian Garcia RHP Age 19 South Atlantic League vs RHB: .251 vs LHB: .246 Some encouraging and some discouraging signs. Firstly, despite his second half ERA being better, his DIPS clearly shows that alot of it was flukey, and DIPS doesnt take G/F into account. In the first half he had very good groundball tendancies combined with a high strikeout rate. Also, his walk rate was very good when you consider how raw he is as a pitcher. However, in the 3 june starts leading up to his time...
