Who's coming up? Who's going down? What's happening with the Yankees Minor League clubs?
Player of the Month: Jesus Montero Pitcher of the Month: D.J. Mitchell
Draft day is soon approaching; the time is here to place your order and draft some prospects! Let's see here, I'm posting some candidates that are likely to fall. Take your pick (or suggest some other.) Edit: please no stupid "other" responses. Let's be somewhat reasonable. Matt Purke, LHP Grant Green, SS Brad Boxberger, RHP Donovan Tate, OF James Paxton, LHP Jacob Turner, RHP
Now that the temperatures are starting to rise so should players performance. :NY:
I've always been a little hazy on the type of contract that he was given. Does his minor league time count as ML service time? So if he's in the minors for 3 years will he be arb eligible?
http://milb.scout.com/a.z?s=381&p=9&c=12&nid=287&lnid=287&pid=88&yr=2009 Jesus Montero - #3 Austin Jackson - #15 Dellin Betances - #71 List has lots of flaws but take it for what it's worth. Realistically, well by tomorrow, Montero would be ranked #1 since Weiters and Price have both made their way to the bigs. discuss
I was wondering if we overpay for this former number 1 pick. The part that hurts the most is that he's on the 40 men roster, Because of this we could not protect a couple of pitchers from the SW roster. S. Jackson & E. Hacker Brackman is 1-4 with a 3.83 ERA in 10 starts. Over 54 innings, he has allowed 48 hits, walked 28 and struck out 47. http://yankees.lhblogs.com/2009/05/27/wild-night-for-brackman/
http://community.thetimes-tribune.com/blogs/yankees/archive/2009/05/27/yankees-sign-rhp-paul-bush.aspx Bush is a right-handed pitcher with pretty good numbers -- 1.62 ERA with 22 strikeouts in 16.2 innings -- and logic would dictate that he's going to fill the hole in the Triple-A rotation.
Last year #2 picked hurt shoulder. Lucky we didn't sign him. May not be picked this year due to the shoulder issue http://www.baseballamerica.com/blog/draft/?p=889#more-889 http://www.baseballamerica.com/blog/draft/?p=896

Hello everyone, Today I have a meeting with a local printer on quotes for this year's Baby-Bombers.com magazine. If everything goes well then this year's issue will not cost more as last years and might even be cheaper for more content. I currently have 64 pages of content outlined for the 2009 Season Preview Issue which will go on sale on opening day 2009 (June 19 through the website). There will also be an electionic version you could download which would be the same price. The...
I live right near New Britain, CT and saw the Thunder Play the rock cats. Thunder lost 7 to 8. The came back with seven runs in the last three innings after being shut out for six. Alan Horne started for the Thunder. He had no command of the strike zone and issued walk after walk after walk. The rock cats hit him pretty hard
Just in case someone could bring us some info about how are players doing during EST, please post it here...
we'll see the phenomenal roster in low A and high A blah blah blah go prospects!
Time to start up the game threads so we can follow all the game action here.
I've been looking for a site that follows some of the Yankees low minor leaguers, specifically Arodys Vizcaino, with daily stats. Anyone know of such a site???
:( What Cole is doing his 1st year at UCLA http://uclabruins.cstv.com/sports/m-basebl/spec-rel/042109aaa.html http://uclabruins.cstv.com/sports/m-basebl/recaps/041809aab.html "Midway through his freshman campaign at UCLA, Cole has posted a 3-3 record and 3.51 ERA in nine starts. The freshman from Santa Ana, Calif., leads UCLA with 71 strikeouts in 51.1 innings, the second-highest total on the Bruins' staff. Entering this week's action, Cole ranks third in the Pac-10 Conference with...
Both of these guys seem to be having solid springs. I'm very interested to see how they both progress. Posada has 3 years left on his deal, and probably won't be able to be the starting catcher for all of it. I know these two probably won't be able to take over right away, but they won't be far behind. Where are they going to start this year? What's their ETA to the majors? Cervelli looks like he could be a very capable backup. I wonder if we could see a C/DH tandem of Montero and Romine,...
I figured that this would be a useful reference tool. Post any transactions that the Yankees have made here. Also, like I did last season, I will be updating yankeesdepthchart.wordpress.com AND will post all of the transactions and updated minor league rosters.
I just looked at his profile and last year he was 6 5 225 pounds while this year he is listed at 6 5 240. I havnt seen him since september on the mound. Did he get fat, or more muscular kind of like a Roger Clemens build?
Time to close out the off season thread and begin anew with the start of spring training. After undergoing reconstructive elbow surgery on Aug. 24, 2007, Brackman spent the next regular season recovering. Price and others zoomed by. “I see all my friends who got drafted the same class as me, like David Price, and I see how good they’re doing and how they get to play,” Brackman said. “It makes me want to get back so much quicker. It’s frustrating sitting on the couch. It was hard to watch...

Now that the Scranton thread is dead, I guess we could discuss the Trenton team. Rotation-Kontos, Hacker, Pope, Z-Mack, Garcia Pen-Humberto, Arias, Dunn, Wordekemper, Hoover, Whelan, Texeira C: Cervelli 1B: Malec 2B: Snyder 3B: Vechionacci SS: Nunez
The Yanks will have Austin Romine and Jesus Montero splitting time between DH and C at Tampa most likely this year. I think, considering that these guys are some of the Yankees' top prospects, the best things would be to get them play everyday at catcher. So if you are the Yankees, what do you do about the catching situation basically throughout the entire minors? They have Montero and Romine and Tampa; Cervelli (and Gil?) at Trenton; likely some combination of Stewart, Cash, and...
I apologize in advanced if this sort of thing is frowned upon here, but I just wanted to try to get people to take a look at my Yankee blog. It talks about the minors and majors, and if nothing much is going on, other teams. http://yankeesmtom.blogspot.com/ Once again, I apologize if this is not allowed on these boards. Good day.
