Who's coming up? Who's going down? What's happening with the Yankees Minor League clubs?

Minor league playoff month, and the Yankees top three minor league teams are in the hunt.<p>The Yankees' minor league affiliates in the International League (Scranton-Wilkes-Barre, AAA); the Eastern League (Trenton, AA); and, the Florida State League (Tampa, A+) are all in contention for the league championships in their respective leagues.<p>I'm personally excited about Trenton because of their elite pitching staff going into the playoffs led by Betances and Banuelos.
I think he deserves his own thread. Post daily stats, season stats, scouting reports, any story’s, clips, pictures, quotes and just everything about him in this thread. PP said he was the most impressive hitter at minor league camp. They also said he has great plate display and his bat is advance for such a young age, but most of us already knew that. I feel that he has an shot at becoming the top prospect in the organization after the season is done imo. Scouting reposts/Profiles/News...
Alot of Yankee Brass I guess at last nights game. There was a lot of talk about the Yankees buying the team outright and building a state of the art stadium but will it be in Scranton was the big question about. The Talk last night was the County could not satisfy the Yankees needs but the area is worried about them leaving being they just built 2 new hotels and a shopping area around existing stadium. Locals feel another team could move into the area but couldn't provide the Yankees draw.
Yes, I know it is early in the season, but with the draft a week from today I decided to give us just that much time to discuss the Rule V situation so we can focus a little more on the draft a little later on. Potential Free spots: Andy Pettitte, Chad Gaudin, Jon Albaladejo, Sergio Mitre, Chan Ho Park, Boone Logan, Juan Miranda, Marcus Thames, Chad Moeller, Reegie Corona, Javy Vazquez That's 10 spots and likely we will not use that many considering we may need a reliever and new bench...
This off-season list is based on a combination of major league potential and performance at the current age. This list is similar to a BA list which incorporates a similar list of values including scouting reports on the players. <p>The list of variables are: Organizational rank; Name; primary position expected in the majors as of today; level played in the minors this year; age +/- at June 30th this year; For position players (avg/slg%/On base plus slg%) For Pitchers (Innings...

My 5 are Brackman, Nova.Medchill,Murphy and Garcia (if healthy)
Here is Keith Law's article from today on the 2011 draft and it's top players: Edit - I had to delete most of the article in order to adhere to the forum rules. http://insider.espn.go.com/mlb/draft2010/insider/columns/story?columnist=law_keith&id=5272269
I couldn't find a thread for talking about another team's prospects. I didn't want to put this in the All purpose thread because that is for the Yankees. http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/prospects/news/262103.html I'll take this guy. Maybe we can work out a deal. :D Sometimes a change of scenary is good for a player.
If not for his recent slump, I'd vote for Brandon Laird. Gary Sanchez had a great year in the GCL. My vote is for him.
The 2010 Staten Island Yankees season is only a few weeks away and I have some news. I will be back for this season, though in an abbreviated role with Gotham Baseball and Baseball Digest. So with that said I am wanting to know what type of coverage do you guys want of the team. Do you want game recaps or more features on players etc. This year's team looks to be just as exciting as last years. JR Murphy is expected to join the team from Charleston, Slade Heathcott and other young...
I guess anything is possible with this cheap organization that likes to pinch pennies now. :P http://www2.tbo.com/content/2010/sep/01/report-orlando-luring-yankees-minor-league-team-ta/sports-rays/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+tbo%2Frays+%28TBO+%3E+Devil+Rays%29

Don't know if we already have something on him... Anyway, Venditte is a switch pitcher in the Yankees organization, in Charleston. Righthanded, he features a fastball and breaking ball, and lefthanded, he's a specialist (according to Newsday). Damn, this looks so awesome on paper. :) (Sorry, I can't find a current link. Any will be appreciated.)
Last full month of the minor league season.
An interesting new concept and one that is past due but do you guys think it will help or hurt the Yankees? Dominican Prospect League winds down Several months ago, La Esquina profiled the start of the Dominican Prospect League, a brainchild of agents Brian Mejia, Ulises Cabrera and Roberto Morales where unsigned teenage Dominican prospects could participate in a league designed to show off their talents to MLB team scouts. The aim was to erase the perception that Dominican prospects...
as per http://twitter.com/Kevin_Goldstein/statuses/21921708947 Yankees dropped some big coin in Asia, signing 16-year-old SS Tzu-Wei Lin out of Taiwan for $350K; MVP of recent IBAF tourney in Canada. Winning the gold medal was the goal of each player on the 18-and-under Taiwanese national team at the World Junior Baseball Championship that concluded earlier this month in Thunder Bay, Canada. But many of the players are also aiming for an even bigger prize — one day suiting up for the...
Apparently the Diamondbacks get a compensation pick (#7 overall next year) and Loux is now a free agent.....should the Yankees be interested in signing him? He failed his physical with the Diamondbacks which led to the negotiations breaking down but the Yankees havent shied away from players who are hurt. Ideas? Suggestions?
As per BA we have signed 2 RHP .Isabel is big 6-7 230 from NYC.He was a suprise signing being he was a Jr. and was the Mets 14th rd pick two years ago. Triplet must throw smoke to be signed. He has no controll .His BBs are threw the roof. http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/ http://knightsbaseballblog.blogspot.com/2010/07/isabel-signs-with-yankees.html http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qsq9SSWOVVU
Season begins today. A lot of talent to root for.

Mason Williams, 80 as a runner (6.44 60), and 60 arm strength from the outfield (91 mph). Talk about sky is the limit, especially if he can develop his power game w/o losing quickness and his speed game. http://www.perfectgame.org/Articles/View.aspx?article=4783
Personally I think we are doing pretty well, at least much better than we used to in our development of players. AND I like Brian Cashman. I am just sick and tired of checking in for news on International Signees, etc only to see additional conversation of, and, or about What's up doc front office hating. Some of you guys should be arrested as terrorist for hijacking and animal cruelty. So can we keep it all here and I promise I'll check in from time to time to see how bad it TRULY...
Looks like everyone who called me nuts for suggesting that Gerrit Cole could very well be the next Mark Prior and reject the Yankees for college should read this.. http://bats.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/08/14/first-round-pick-gerrit-cole-opts-for-college-over-yankees/ This is terrible news. This is a guy the Yankees had to sign.
