Only had internet on my phone for a while but now I'm back and wanted to start a thread for the Sabres. They are playing really good hockey. Ryan Miller is not looking like Mr. Softee at this point of the season.
I didn't see one, so I guess Ill start it. The Heels got Harrison Barnes!!!!! However, this year UNC looking decent/not great against inferior opponents. OHST next Thursday, Michigan St. on the 1st, Kentucky on the 5th, and Texas on the 19th......if we split those 4, call me a happy camper. I don't think there is one clear cut favorite team out there.
http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/tennis/news/story?id=4600027&campaign=rss&source=ESPNHeadlines Why in God's name would you disclose something like this? The guy is an icon and looked up to by so many young players. Selfish nonsense.
First of all, I love horse racing. Second of all, I watch "Jockeys" on Animal Planet (good show). And, third of all Congrats to Mike Smith on Zenyatta for winning the Breeders Cup. Well deserved.
You have to watch the video of this female soccer player from the University of New Mexico going UFC on the BYU players. She literally grabs one girl from behind by her ponytail and yanks her to the ground: http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/news/story?id=4629837 Apparently she has since apologized, but I always love when people get caught red handed displaying a pattern of boorish behavior and then say "this is in no way indicative of my character" in their apology. Well then who's...
Starting out very well. Shaq is 3-3 at this point.
The 2009 college football season will begin with the SEC's quest for a fourth consecutive national championship. This feat has not happened since the days when not too many schools even played college football. The last conference to win 3 consecutive national championships was the SEC. Alabama won it in 1978 and 1979, and Georgia finished the trifecta in 1980. We have to go back to 1933 when Michigan won the title, and then Minnesota (yes Minnesota), won three consecutive...
The NFL released Pro Bowl tickets today and they are on sale now. This is the first game back in the US mainland in 30 years.
I hear fans are thinking it will be the final chapter of a long decade and in 2010 things will be different. I understand Lebron and Wade are FA's...but this assumes they both will leave their teams, also that the Knicks can afford both, and they would come to New York. I thought due to the economy the salary cap would not make it so they could BOTH be accomodated. My questions are 1) What is the likelihood Lebron stays? 2) What is the likelihood Wade stays?
It's down to the Final Four: Chicago, Tokyo, Rio de Janeiro and Madrid. Which city will IOC President Jacques Rogge select as the host of the 2016 Summer Olympic Games? We will find out today from Copenhagen, Denmark.
I hope the Bruins suck this year. I can not stand how all the sudden the bandwagon is on that team and town. If you ask me, both are overrated. Let's start with the Bruins. Fluke. To me, they made a huge mistake dealing Kessel, and not just in conference but in the division. He was their best offensive player, their biggest threat, and he is just 21. All they did was criticize him for not being a "Big Bad Bruin" however that is so overrated. They still think it is the 1960s where you...
I really have no desire to see the Mets play -- but I'm curious to see Citi Field. The solution? Football, baby! The NY Sentinels of the newly formed United Football League will be playing one of their home games at Citi Field on Wednesday night, Nov. 4th. The cheapest tickets are 11 bucks, located in the "Pepsi Porch." Tickets go on sale on Oct. 5th. http://www.ufl-football.com/venues/citi_field_flushing_ny A notch below NFL quality, but what the hell...........Should be a...
If this the case....several questions. 1) What does this mean for the Nets? Why do they need another investor? -Does this make the Brooklyn project more likely? 2) How likely is it the Brooklyn project is done?
Another year, another US Open tennis tournament from the Billie Jean King United States National Tennis Center from Flushing Meadows in New York. Will Roger Federer win his 16th Grand Slam or will someone else win it in the men's singles? Andy Murray looks for his first major title, Andy Roddick his 2nd, Rafael Nadal looks to win in order to complete the Career Golden Slam. In the women's singles, all eyes on the Williams sisters, Maria Sharapova, and Kim Clijsters returns to the US Open...
I attended the University of Iowa (BS/MS) and grew up about 25 miles from campus. Here are some musings that came to me regarding those days. What about times at your school? HAWKEYE FOOTBALL A few weeks ago I talked to an out-of-state friend. While we chatted, I kept talking about the upcoming Iowa season. He is not a big sports fan, and had never been to an Iowa Football game. He just could not understand my passion for Iowa Hawkeye Football. "What is the big deal about Iowa football?...
9.58 seconds. This, of course, wrecks his previous world record of 9.69, achieved after he started celebrating early. Guy's a beast.
In the USA and, for purposes of this thread only , I'm not interested in F1.:)
With Isiah finally out I thought we should make a new thread to celebrate new era. With Isiah gone the road back to a quality term should be fast-tracked. Let's Go Knicks! :D
I didn't see a thread started yet, so I figured I'd start it. The lead is currently at -4 and is held by three players including Tiger Woods, who is trying to save his par on hole 4. Padraig Harrington is one back and has an excellent birdie chance on the same hole.

WTF? http://blog.seattlepi.com/seattlesports/archives/175635.asp "Former Sonics standout Rashard Lewis, now an All-Star with the Orlando Magic, has been suspended for the first 10 games of next season after testing positive for an elevated testosterone level, the NBA announced Thursday." He doesn't exactly have the steroids body type, but who knows?
Not that I'm into swimming, but how can anyone take this thing seriously when unknowns wearing suits that will be banned next year are setting world records all over the place? How can they allow these records to stand?
After pulling off 24 hours straight on Justin TV, Crackbury passes out snoring with his hands down his pants an hour ago Currently, he is tired, tired, tired .. although he claims not to be and his voice is lost. For those who may be interested. Was hoping Japan would get it in 2015 if I had to be honest. Was planning on traveling to it. Can't win them all. Congrats England.
