i'm thinkin' about bettin' big on the spurs here... anything to see the big chief triangle and his crony the big aristotle uh, hackquile oneal fall on their faces...
It's funny how Phil got this team to kick some ass at the right time. This team has the same feel as the Jordan teams. Total domination for 4 quarters. There is no match out there for them and I hate to say it but they will repeat as champs.
These were the good old days!!!
He's da man!!!! Style, power, class and grace.
:( I guess I have to offer my congratulations to all the Devils fans out there on winning the East. :(
Mario's fairytale season has come to an end - the Devils just outplayed the Pens all over. The Penguins have a lot of decisions to make in this off-season, and judging from Mario's post-game comments, we have probably seen the last game Lemieux and Jagr will ever play as teammates. :(
So, while you Devils fans are congratulating each other and your team, and they do deserve...
Several days ago I heard on Sporting News Radio that, because Michael Jordan is connected to the Wizards - and the NBA has lower TV ratings this year - the draft will be fixed to make sure that team wins. The reason? Make it more likely Michael Jordan will return next year. Well, I just saw the draft, and lo and behold, the Wizards won! Is the fix in? Strange coincidence?
BTW, all this was speculated on two days before thefdraft on SNR by Papa Joe Chevalier.

Raiders Lawsuit Vs. NFL Is Rejected
By KEN PETERS, AP Sports Writer
LOS ANGELES (AP) - Al Davis and his Oakland Raiders lost a $1.2 billion lawsuit that claimed the NFL sabotaged a deal for a new stadium and forced the team to leave Los Angeles.
The jury voted 9-3 Monday in favor of the NFL, rejecting breach of contract claims, unjust enrichment and other violations of the league constitution and bylaws. It also rejected that the NFL acted with ``oppression,...
Are these guys putting on some show or what?
Pittsburgh Penguins Mario Lemieux (66) and Jaromir Jagr, left, come to the realization that they are nothing more than a speed bump in the Devil's drive to their second consecutive Stanley Cup Championship.
New Jersey Devils' Patrik Elias, top, celebrates the fact that they're only playing the Penguuins in this round with teammate Petr Sykora during the third game of the third round of the Stanley Cup playoffs Thursday, May 17, 2001

But kudos to Point Given for rebounding from his poor showing of two weeks ago. He's a really good horse.
I actually fared pretty well. I had the exacta, and I had a place & show bet on AP Valentine, so I managed to recoup my investment and make a little profit. And when you get right down to it, that's what the game is all about. :)
On to the Belmont Stakes in 3 weeks! Let's see if I can keep up this little win streak!
Tomorrow's the Preakness, the 2nd jewel of the Triple Crown. I believe that you've got to dance with the one who brought you, and so I'm once again going with Monarchos to win it, with Point Given to place and AP Valentine to show. It should be a good race. :)
Anyone else betting on the race?
No, Jim, I wasn't offline all weekend because of the Devils, I had a lot of stuff going on (so far, all good). Anyway, turnaround is fair play, so what can I say that the Pens didn't say on the ice.
What was that about Super Mario...?!?
He's looking pretty happy here, but two assists will do that for you!
Man, the Sixers came out on fire. Right now, they're up 21-8. Keep it going!
...in a knicks uni... please...
I don't really have much to add to the statement the Dev's made on the ice tonight except for:
And as for "Super" Mario...

WWF Folds the XFL
By HOWARD FENDRICH, AP Sports Writer
NEW YORK (AP) - X-it, stage left.
The XFL (news - web sites) folded Thursday after one season that was a critical and TV ratings disappointment for the football league founded by the World Wrestling Federation and jointly owned by NBC.
``We're discontinuing the XFL,'' WWF spokesman Judd Everhart said.
Devils are gonna go down. Personally, I don't like either team, but I hate the Devils the most. I hate everything to do with them. Especially that loser Scott Stevens. I hope one of the Pens knocks his ass out for the series. Then maybe he'll get a taste of his own medicine.
Pens goin to the Stanley Cup!!! GO PENS!!!
Dedicated to that hockey goon, Tie Domi.
I'm not much of a hockey fan at all, though I like it better than basketball, and I did watch Rangers games sometimes before I went away to college. However, this match-up seems to be an exciting one. Anyway, I know there are both Devils and Penguins fans here, so I thought having a topic just for this series might be a good idea! :)
B "fun fun!" G :)
Yep, same old Knicks for the past decade talking the talk. . . and coming up short - as always. They and the Jets deserve each other. Hey, Spree, go choke the chicken this time.
Now just listen to Van Gundy's biggest media shill, Mike Francesa, make excuses for him.
Webber next year. Period.
No, this isn't Penguin-related! Peter Forsberg ruptured his spleen somewhere in the course of last night's game, but they aren't sure when, because it wasn't noticed till after the game, when apparently he showered, got dressed, went to dinner, started feeling queasy, and had an emergency splenectomy performed.
You won't see that every day of the week!
I have to go with the Flyers - I can't take the Debbies, the Dirty Birds, the Feeble Leafs or anybody else in the East. The Flyers have what I like, a lunchbucket old-time hockey attitude. That Cechmanek is one tough guy to put a puck behind too.
Who ya backing?
It's now do or die Devils..
I'm not the biggest D fan, but it flows in m' blood so ya gotta bash dem Canadians... ;)
Stupid ass Canadians!! NOT EVEN A REAL COUNTRY!
As a matter of fact, they look really tame compared to these folks...
