ASHBURN, Va. -- Seven-time Pro Bowl cornerback Deion Sanders retired from the NFL on Friday, two days before he was due to report to the Washington Redskins' training camp.
"In my discussions with (Sanders' agent) Eugene Parker, it was evident from his comments that Deion Sanders did not want to play football," coach Marty Schottenheimer said.
"With that understanding, both parties have reached a mutually beneficial agreement. Deion Sanders will retire as a National Football League...

Tomorrow is the NHL entry draft @ high noon in Sunrise, Fla. This draft is one of the deepest in recent memory so it ought to be interesting with Mad Mike Milbury picking second behind the Thrashers. What shenanigans will The Mad One pull this year? Ooops, sorry Danmel, I think he's your GM :D
Ilya Kovalchuk (LW) will likely go first (a cross between Pavel Bure and Owen Nolan they say) and after that it's a crap shoot with many teams entertaining trade offers.
Jason Spezza (C),...

Yes Randy Moss got his payday but now he must step it up as the leader on that team and help Minnesota get to the Super Bowl. When it's all said and done he and Jerry Rice will be known as the 2 best receivers to ever play in the NFL!

Beijing is close to winning the coveted title of Host City of the Olympics in 2008 which they will use for immense propaganda value and to enrich Chinese banks. So, who are these folks and what have they said and done to deserve such an honor?
Red China has twice threatened to kill American civilians with nuclear missiles if the U.S. defends Taiwan from invasion. Beijing's missiles, already aimed at the west coast of our country, are more accurate than
ever thanks to Bill Clinton.

Fans Jeer Armstrong on Eve of Tour
By MICHAEL McDONOUGH, Associated Press Writer
DUNKIRK, France (AP) - Lance Armstrong was jeered not once but twice by cycling fans before Saturday's start of the Tour de France, which he hopes to win for the third straight year.
The cold reception toward the Texan and his U.S. Postal Service team came during a...
In today's newspaper we had this.
Anna Kournikova called the Williams' sisters "masculine Amazons" who are bad for the sport.
"Masculine Amazons"?? Any feminine Amazons?? At least she didn't call them "animals" belonging in National Geographic.
The Williams' sisters said Anna was "All T&A. A bimbo".
So what's wrong with that??

I don't, but I was wondering if anyone knew what happened to ECW wrestling? I notice they don't have it anymore.....I guess it was like the minor league to WWF. Anyway, just thought I'd see if anyone here knew. :)
Last race was won by Little E. It was a dramatic race where Little E was plagued with questions on if the race was fixed. This race, in the inaugural race in the Chicagoland Speedway (Tropicana 400), Kevin Harvick, won the race. Congrats to Kevin!!

I'll be at Daytona to see Saturday night's NASCAR Pepsi 400 race. It will certainly be strange when all the cars come on the track, especially #8, for the first time after the last lap of Feb's Daytona 500 which cost us fans Dale Sr.
I just hope it will be an injury free race.
I'm also looking forward to another trip to Kennedy Space Center where a space shuttle mission is ready for launching later this month. Take care all, I'll be off the 'puter till Monday.
While certain nameless little girls seem to think that because I have a
thoroughbred horse that I am connected in some way to the racing industry...nothing could be farther from the truth. I am involved with a
group that saves horses from the slaughterhouse. My thoroughbred was
4 years old, big and beautiful, sporting his racing shoes and on his way
to the slaughter house. Apparently he wasn't a moneymaker and thus,
was disposable. The racing industry treats animals like garbage and I...
I'm so proud of her. Too bad she can't take that trophy. :(

For the first time in since 1996 and the second time in seven years, Pete Sampras has lost at Wimbledon. He lost a five set match to nineteen year old Roger Federer.
A new king will be crowned this year at Wimbledon.
BUT, 1st I'm a Knick's fan. And, I just DON'T see how this can help the Knicks?
NEW YORK -- Allan Houston has reached an agreement that would make him the high-paid player in New York Knicks history, the New York Daily News reported in its Saturday editions.
On Friday, the New York Times reported that Houston and the Knicks were close to agreeing to a long-term, $100 million contract.
The Daily News reported that Houston and the...
Well, being a 14 year old girl I wouldnt know either way, but I read something interesting, and TRUE, a few months ago in the Quarter Horse Journal. Baseball players walk up to the plate with a batting helmet so the big, scary, featherweight ball doesn't hurt them. Hockey players and football players wear so many pads you'd have to have excellent eyes to see what these guys really look like. BMX riders wear pads as well, and all they're doing is flipping around on a kid's bike. Bronc riders are...
Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi both gone from the tourny. Andre's match against Patrick Rafter was fun to watch though. Agassi hit the ball at an umpire on purpose after he got a bad call.
WIMBLEDON, England, July 6 — As Patrick Rafter thrust his fist in the air to celebrate his comeback victory Friday in the Wimbledon semifinals, an angry Andre Agassi fired one last shot.Walking toward the net, Agassi pulled a ball from his pocket and belted it at the lineswoman who had...
