Ask away...
The first player signed to a multi-year deal was waived. Andy Pettitte (2 yrs/$13 per) by Kings of Arbitration. Therefore K of A will have only $259 instead of $260 in next year's auction. This will be adjusted by adding $1 to the price of one of his keepers when the keepers are loaded, and then the $1 will be subtracted once the auction is completed. (Edit: I am checking all the rosters now to see if I missed any...this caught my eye because he was picked up on waivers, in which...
I'll start it... Carlos Quentin to the DL please... http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=MLB&id=797
and yes, it's a bobblehead.
Football is over if you live in NY, and Spring Training is right around the corner....so let's get busy and see who is coming back for 2007. As last year, payments can be made to my Pay Pal account, and the league fee is still a cheap $25. When you officially reply as returning, I will send you an invoice for the fee. Anyone interested in an expansion team can make that known here, too. 2007 League Teams (in order of finish): 1) Bitches Brew FEES PAID 2) New York Knights FEES PAID...
With the salary adjustments taking place this year, 2007 might be a very interesting auction. There are few true bargains out there as keepers: Bitches Brew: 7 players less than $10. Evil Empire: 2 players Giambianblast: 7 players HHH: 7 players Kings of Arbitration: 4 players Mets Magic: 5 players New York Knights: 5 players Raging Bulls: 4 players
Last year's teams: Bitches Brew - PAID Ruthianblast - PAID Kings of Arbitration - PAID New York Knights - PAID Striking Back - PAID Sycamore Style - PAID The A-Team v.2007 - PAID The Corporation
Sticky? Beckett to the DL please. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20080324&content_id=2454335&vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb&partnered=rss_mlb
I'm in the trading mood. Lance Berkman and Grady Sizemore are on the table. Let me know if you've got interest...
Post your Keepers for the 2009 season in here whenever you like, and I'm assuming Big_E will set a deadline by which you MUST have your list posted. I figure we could at least start chatting about this in here if we wanted. Remember, you have to keep at least 7, and no more than 12 players from last year. For me, I'm keeping the following guys for sure: Hanley Ramirez (2 years left on prior deal @ $21)
Webb to the DL, please.:( http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090412/ap_on_sp_ba_ne/bbn_diamondbacks_webb
THIS IS A 48-HOUR WARNING. IF THE FOLLOWING PLAYERS ARE NOT ACTIVATED BY 9:30PM FRIDAY THEY WILL BE RELEASED: Bartolo Colon, Bitches Brew (Off DL since 6/18) Julio Lugo, Kings of Arbitration (Off DL since 5/5) !! Josh Barfield, Kings of Arbitration (In majors all season) !! If there are any other problems let me know and I will add to the list.
Could we all refrain from adding and dropping players until after Kev has updated the dollar values in our rosters? I think it would help him, since he has to lookup the values of everyone and manually add them, and if the rosters are not the same it could cause some confusion. Also, it appears some players that should have been on people's rosters have been missed. Hopefully when he adds the dollar values, he'll catch all his misses.
At $47 bucks the price is steep. Albert has been a fantasy stud the last 4-5 years. Would you option him at $47 in order to retain his rights for another season. I know there is a good chance he could be had for cheaper, but is the risk of throwing him back and not having him worth almost 1/5 of your salary. If it were you what would you do?
I was looking through a fantasy baseball magazine today and there was an ad for rotowire.com Their 2005 FBL League: http://www.rotowire.com/mlbcommish05/ (you might have to go in through the main http://www.rotowire.com/ page) has a new feature: New for this season: Live auction room for online drafting with dollar bidding. Any questions? Email us at support@rotowire.com or call us at 310-883-3183 (We're in during West Coast business hours - and you may want to try at other times...
I thought long and hard about keeping Brandon Arroyo....should have.
So ya, Arroyo is on the block, I'd like a closer in return.
Wang is not keepable, he was an option player last year. Pence is not a minor league keeper, he was in your majors last year and has more than 130 AB. You can renew him or sign him to a long-term deal. You have Markakis and Mussina under 2-year contracts. If you don't keep them you face a -$1 penalty in the auction.
Looking at possible dates, now that the other league is locked in for March 23. Dates that come to mind (that means, good for me :)) March 16th (close, and we need to declare keepers by next Monday then) March 20th March 22nd March 27th March 28th March 29th
My March this year has been brutal. My apologies to all. Right now it looks like the best date for me to hold the auction would be March 25th. Can people make that date? 9pm?
Monday, March 7th Between 8:30 and 9pm. (Big_E, I know you said 9pm, so if it has to be 9, thats fine :) ) More info to follow. Please respond to this thread to let me know that you have seen this information.
Let's see a show of hands!
Alright, guys, we've narrowed it down to a couple of days in March: 3rd (Thursday) 6th (Sunday) 7th (Monday) Vote in the poll above, but remember what you are voting for:
The Auction will be on Friday, March 24th at 10pm. Yes, 10pm is a little late, but with keepers we should still be done in 2-2.5 hours, plus it's a Friday. Also, after nominating that date, I found out I might have a meeting at 7pm that day, so instead of 9pm I am making it at 10pm. If I find out the meeting is cancelled, I can switch it back to 9pm if that's better for people.
Sunday, March 19th. Good?
Hope everyone is ready!
