The first player signed to a multi-year deal was waived. Andy Pettitte (2 yrs/$13 per) by Kings of Arbitration. Therefore K of A will have only $259 instead of $260 in next year's auction. This will be adjusted by adding $1 to the price of one of his keepers when the keepers are loaded, and then the $1 will be subtracted once the auction is completed. (Edit: I am checking all the rosters now to see if I missed any...this caught my eye because he was picked up on waivers, in which...
Ok, gentlemen, the hardest part of getting our league together is behind us! With the completion of the actual auction we are good to go for the season. I applaud everyone for making the time and working it out to make sure that they were involved. It is VERY difficult to get 13 teams in a league where no one has a real inherent comitment to being there. All of you guys went out of your way to help get this up and running, and for that we should all be thankful. A special...
I figured we should start one of these threads. Kind of like a trash talking thread, but more subtle. Post bits of news about players here that you "just want to share, because you thought the league would like to know..." and you "don't even know who has the guy, but I figured I would just put it out there..." I'll start off. I don't know who has this guy, but I thought this was interesting:
Last year's teams: Bitches Brew - PAID Ruthianblast - PAID Kings of Arbitration - PAID New York Knights - PAID Striking Back - PAID Sycamore Style - PAID The A-Team v.2007 - PAID The Corporation
Sticky? Beckett to the DL please. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20080324&content_id=2454335&vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb&partnered=rss_mlb
This is the thread we will us for the expansion draft. As per the vote results earlier this year, expansion teams will be allowed to pick between 4 and 12 keepers. Only players on the expansion list attached will be allowed to be kept. A few players are under existing contracts. For those players, you may assume the contract -- however, remember that those are last year's deals. So if someone says, for example: Danny Bosavage*, P, NYY, $35, 2 years that he was on a 2-year contract...
We have these in the other league, so I figured I'd start one here. Basically, this is to post any information and trash-talking about Week One you see fit. :D I'll start: UNDERRATE THIS:
The auction was a lot of fun (even if it ended so late...) When will we be able to see the results?
O.K.- There is ONE WEEK until the auction! The Sportsline site has been set up, and everyone should have gotten e-mails. Most of you guys have signed up already, but we're still waiting on Mark_19 and Obgreen. Sign up! EVERYONE NEEDS TO BE RESEARCHING! THE AUCTION WILL BE AT 9PM SHARP ON MONDAY THE 7TH!
Fantasy Auctioneer seems like a very good option for us, seeing as we are trying to have our auction move swiftly. It would allow everyone to participate and lessen the level confusion and disorder that we would invariably experience in our chatroom. I wil pay for the site if everyone can go to it and run their diagnostic test (We need to know if everyone can support it). Please go to the site (link below), run the test, and then vote in the above poll when you pass. If you fail the...
OK...the deadline to declare keepers is going to be March 18th at 11:59pm, which gives us just under a week before the auction (March 24th). It was going to be the 17th, but I figured people might be posting drunk that day. :) Anyway, remember the rules: Minimum of 7, Maximum of 12. List WHO you are keeping, his price last year, the contract length and the new salary. Such as: Elliot Yamin ($5). 4 years, $21. Kevin Covalis ($12), 1 year, $12. (Those are not my keepers, they are...
I'm in the trading mood. Lance Berkman and Grady Sizemore are on the table. Let me know if you've got interest...
I was looking through a fantasy baseball magazine today and there was an ad for rotowire.com Their 2005 FBL League: http://www.rotowire.com/mlbcommish05/ (you might have to go in through the main http://www.rotowire.com/ page) has a new feature: New for this season: Live auction room for online drafting with dollar bidding. Any questions? Email us at support@rotowire.com or call us at 310-883-3183 (We're in during West Coast business hours - and you may want to try at other times...
Tomorrow night we will be having our auction at Fantasy Auctioneer! Please make sure you arrive promptly so we can get this done as quickly and efficiently as possible. If this means not taking up extra time by bidding against me for players that I throw out, then so be it. It will be for the best of the league. ;) :D Also, please look at the magazines that you are using for values and make sure that the prices they are listing are MIXED LEAGUE prices, not AL ONLY or NL ONLY. Most...
I'm bored again. Joba is not on the block, but other stars are. I want to make a blockbuster and pull in some mL talent, as well as some potential keepers who may not have performed in the Majors to their abilities. I have a number of All-Stars on my team that I'm willing to move. Lets have hot and steamy trade relations.
I think we should form this 'executive committee' (like the Assistant Commissioners of the original league) soon. We should also vote (as per 15.3) on 1) Whether a player on the active roster during ST can be demoted to the minors if he (A) is demoted prior to OD by his team AND (B) has rookie eligibility 2) Whether teams with an open minor league roster spot can sign a FA minor leaguer to fill that spot with a simple majority of the league (7) winning the votes. :)
The mL draft will begin FRIDAY, April 10th, 8am Eastern Time. Teams will have 24 hours to make their pick; picks not made on time will be forfeited until the end of the draft. Draft order TBA soon. When it is your turn, please announce as: NEW YORK KNIGHTS, Nick Zohn, P, New York Yankees

It looks like we will have the auction on the 20th or 22nd. I'd like to have Keepers declared by the 14th. Keeper rules: You must keep 7-12 players. Minor leaguers do not count towards the 7-12. To keep someone in the minors, they must not have 50 IP or 130 AB for their career. Players with an asterisk next to their contract, such as 1 year*, can not be kept in 2007. Players with a multi-year deal MUST be kept, or you lose $1 in auction value for each year left. Renewing a...
OK....the deadline to declare keepers will be: Friday, February 29th at 11:59pm, Eastern US Time. This will give me the weekend to get things ready for the Expansion Draft, which will begin on Monday, March 3rd. I am still working out when to have the auction...
OK...time to shake off the cobwebs and get things going again.... I know people mentioned if they were planning on returning in the other thread, but I need a clean list to keep track of paid...so, if you are returning, make it known here and I will send you an invoice. Returning Owners: Big_E (NY Knights) - PAID THEBOSS84 - PAID chrisro - PAID ruthianblast - PAID

Anyone been looking into their keepers for next year? I've been juggling the extended contracts with the 1 year deals. I'm hoping to finish this year off somewhere at the top and I've made some serious headway so far. Still in the middle though. Worse comes to worse I'm gonna go with a few stars with 1 year deal so I don't have to bid. Here's a preliminary look: 1 yr deals Jeter 28 Green 10 Ordonez 18 Ichiro 38 (tough but he helps in alot of categories) P Wilson 5 Silva 10
With the auction on the 25th, keepers need to be in by next sunday, 3/22. Any questions, let me know... NY Knights - posted GHR714 - posted THEBOSS84 - posted Pinch Hitters - posted A-Team Russel Peters - posted
