Wang is not keepable, he was an option player last year. Pence is not a minor league keeper, he was in your majors last year and has more than 130 AB. You can renew him or sign him to a long-term deal. You have Markakis and Mussina under 2-year contracts. If you don't keep them you face a -$1 penalty in the auction.
OK....the deadline to declare keepers will be: Friday, February 29th at 11:59pm, Eastern US Time. This will give me the weekend to get things ready for the Expansion Draft, which will begin on Monday, March 3rd. I am still working out when to have the auction...
This is the thread we will us for the expansion draft. As per the vote results earlier this year, expansion teams will be allowed to pick between 4 and 12 keepers. Only players on the expansion list attached will be allowed to be kept. A few players are under existing contracts. For those players, you may assume the contract -- however, remember that those are last year's deals. So if someone says, for example: Danny Bosavage*, P, NYY, $35, 2 years that he was on a 2-year contract...
OK... Sportsline is very minimalist in their answers to questions. Sometimes there's a lot of back and forth to try to get the information needed. SO...At first it seemed that we would be using Sportsline, no problem. THEN...since we couldn't pre-rank players, we'd have to use FantasyAuctioneer.com in case people couldn't make the auction. (Since FantasyAuctioneer.com lets you pre-rank) BUT...I heard from someone else that maybe we could use Sportsline after all, and save the $44.95...
I have not received payment from these two teams These two teams have not declared keepers by the long established deadline They have received multiple requests for payment from me. They have been sent PM reminders to both pay and submit keepers. We need to move on. If by 6pm they have not paid and declared keepers, their teams will be disbanded, and all their players available for the expansion draft.
This worked well in the other forum. VOTE ONLY FOR WHICH DAYS ARE NOT GOOD FOR YOU! We need to get 100% if we can -- I do not know how things will work with Sportsline running the auction themselves. I have not seen an option to pre-rank the auction like at FantasyAuctioneer.com If we can't get 100%, we will have to spend the money (don't worry, it's covered) to go to FantasyAuctioneer.com like we have in the past. There we can pre-rank players and if you don't show up, you still have...
Last year's teams: Bitches Brew - PAID Ruthianblast - PAID Kings of Arbitration - PAID New York Knights - PAID Striking Back - PAID Sycamore Style - PAID The A-Team v.2007 - PAID The Corporation
The following players were released in multi-year contracts. Their owners will face a $1 penalty in the auction for each player: Bitches Brew: Chris Capuano Carlos Quentin Ruthianblast: Jeremy Sowers Kevin Youkilis*
OK....the debate is, should we change the rule or keep it the same? Current rule: Expansion teams pick exactly 7 keepers from the discards of the existing teams. Proposed rule: Expansion teams pick 4-to-12 keepers from the discards of the existing teams. 1) Voting is for league members only. If you're not in the league, please don't vote. 2) All members (returning and new owners) may vote
...duplicate...delete please
What are everyone's plans for 2008? I know some of us are much more active in the league than others - but looking over the rosters, some teams have built up some solid keeper cores. I'd definitely like to continue next year, and perhaps start campaigning for any replacement and new managers. Oh - and if Eric is ok with continuing on being commish - I'm ok with that too.
and yes, it's a bobblehead.
Sure looks like it. :D
Who was your STEAL! Mine is Brandon Phillips @ $2 or Mark Buehrle @ $3.
For players on the DL who have since been activated... Remember, you must activate a player within 7 days of coming off the real-life DL, or they will be released to the waiver wire. Consider this thread your official 7-day warning this season... A.J. Burnett, Kings of Arbitration. Activated by Toronto 8/12. Will be released by commissioner if not activated by 8/20 Jason Giambi, Striking Back. Activated by Yankees 8/7. Will be released by commissioner if not activated by 8/20
It seems that yanksphan wanted to reverse a move, but couldn't, ending up with an illegal roster and huge loss in points. Would anyone object to me making the reverse move retroactively?
I'll start it... Carlos Quentin to the DL please... http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=MLB&id=797
In an effort to catch the Style, 2006 Champions, Bitches Brew have traded away hot young pitching prospect Matt Garza to the Russell Peters Experiment. In return, the Brew shore up there pitching staff with John Lackey. Clearly a move to win now, we'll see how it pays off for last year's champs.
Anyone out there? Bitches Brew get: Alex Rodriguez ($35) Jermaine Dye (non-keeper) Striking Back get: Todd Helton ($1) Curtis Granderson ($10) Alex Gordon ($10)
The Greek God of Walks Youkilis is on the block; I am willing to package him with most people on my team for the right package. This includes such studs as Haren, Kazmir, Ortiz, McCann. I'd rather keep my young rotation intact but again, no one is ever untouchable on the GHR team. I would prefer a keeper coming back; but am also willing to trade a keeper to get a solid player that may help me compete this year (I can make up 20 pts; no problem). Listening to and considering all offers.
For people you can't demote, but want to retain their rights... Snatch Catch (Sycamore Style) is reserving Roger Clemens. His salary for 2007 is now $6. He is being released, but cannot be signed by any other team. If Clemens is signed by a MLB team, Sycamore Style has 7 days to add him to his roster once he is activated. If he does not, Clemens becomes a Free Agent.
Is there an interest in keeping this league going past this year? There is little activity on the board, or in the league, and it seems few teams are making any roster moves...
Remember...illegal rosters (too many or not enough players) do not earn any points. Post-auction, you all had legal lineups. Since then, not so much. If you put someone on the DL and didn't sign a FA to replace them, you're SOL. So check those warnings!
The minor league draft will begin officially tomorrow at Noon. Teams will have 24 hours to make their picks, before being skipped until the end of the draft. The draft order is: ROUND ONE Striking Back, Luke Hochevar, SP, KCR A-Team v.2007 Skipped, 24 Hour Rule GHR714 Tim Lincecum SP SFG
Anyone looking to acquire him on the cheap?
