Anyone else see this?
OK...time to shake off the cobwebs and get things going again....
I know people mentioned if they were planning on returning in the other thread, but I need a clean list to keep track of paid...so, if you are returning, make it known here and I will send you an invoice.
Big_E (NY Knights) - PAID
THEBOSS84 - PAID
chrisro - PAID
ruthianblast - PAID
Post your Keepers for the 2009 season in here whenever you like, and I'm assuming Big_E will set a deadline by which you MUST have your list posted.
I figure we could at least start chatting about this in here if we wanted.
Remember, you have to keep at least 7, and no more than 12 players from last year.
For me, I'm keeping the following guys for sure:
Hanley Ramirez (2 years left on prior deal @ $21)
I'm bored again.
Joba is not on the block, but other stars are.
I want to make a blockbuster and pull in some mL talent, as well as some potential keepers who may not have performed in the Majors to their abilities.
I have a number of All-Stars on my team that I'm willing to move.
Lets have hot and steamy trade relations.
I think the question has been raised enough that it warrants a poll. Of course; I'd probably start a poll anyway; but whatever.
Please choose the number of bench spots you would like to see added to the rosters. If you don't want bench spots added to the constitution please choose none.
So I just have a question that I'd like to pose.
Obviously we have some active players; based on recent transactions it's about half the league. The other half appears to no longer care and in the long run that hurts the entire league. Liriano is a perfect example; I'm probably going to get him due to waiver wire priority, but there is no way a pitcher of that talent should ever be hitting the ww.
This is now the second year in a row where it seems most of the league quit.
...like anyone cares.
Beckett to the DL please.
I figured we should start one of these threads. Kind of like a trash talking thread, but more subtle.
Post bits of news about players here that you "just want to share, because you thought the league would like to know..." and you "don't even know who has the guy, but I figured I would just put it out there..."
I'll start off.
I don't know who has this guy, but I thought this was interesting:
Bitches Brew send away Matt Cain and his 2 year deal for the rights to rent Nick Markakis for the rest of the season.
The mL draft has ended.
You may now sign anyone you wish.
If you add someone to your mL roster, please send me a PM so I can adjust the contract
League leaders Romanian Yankees announce their first trade of the 2008 season. The Yankees streghtened their pitching staff by adding ace Rich Harden on a 1-year contract from Ruthianblast. They traded first baseman Paul Konerko in exchange.
To make room in the rotation for Harden, Romanian Yankees released pitcher Chad Gaudin. Also, to replace Konerko in the starting lineup, Joey Votto has been called up from the minors.
Once a player is activated off the DL (and makes an appearance) you have 7 days to move them to your active roster, or they will be dropped from your team...
Miguel Montero, Russell Peters Experiment, Activated 4/23/08. Since I just noticed him, he must be added to active roster by 5/7 or he will be dropped on 5/8. Dropped by Commissioner on 5/9
Matt Garza, Russell Peters Experiment, Activated 4/25/08. Since I just noticed him, he must be added to active roster by 5/7 or he will be dropped...
Volquez for Magglio.
Problems? Too bad.
I can't even talk about it right now.
Use this thread to make your picks.
Picks should be in BOLD, 6 POINT FONT with the player's name, team and position.
For example: Danny Bosavage, Yankees, P
Players with Rookie Eligibility (50 IP, 130 AB) who are currently on rosters:
Adenhart, Nick SP ANA
Bailey, Homer SP CIN
It's been said before; will be repeated again....
YOU CANNOT SIGN PLAYERS WITH mL ELIGIBILITY UNTIL THE mL DRAFT IS OVER.
I do not care if the player is scheduled to make the team...if he has mL eligibility (50 IP, 130 AB), you cannot sign him until the draft is over...this is to protect the sanctity of the mL draft.
On that note...I am releasing Jair Jurrjens from the Ruthianblast roster...
Bitches Brew and I were discussing deals today, and he pushed me away just as we were about to consumate our relationship.
Now I've got a serious case of fantasy blueballs, and just want to make a deal to kill the time before tonight's home opener.
Joba Chamberlain, Yankee phenom, is on the table.
He's signed for 2008, 2009, and 2010 at $17 per year.
Let's make a deal. I'm trade-horny and bored.
The Minor League draft will begin on Tuesday, April 1 at 9am Eastern Daylight Time.
Teams will have 12 hours to make picks.
Minor League rosters will be considered 'frozen' as of 5pm Eastern Daylight Time on Monday, March 31st. That means that if you promote a player from your mL roster to your active ML roster after that time, you will not receive an extra pick in the mL draft.
I will include a list of players on rosters who have mL eligibility so that they are not accidentally picked.
Future keepers? Or dropped in the first week?

In this league, you cannot do add/drops until Opening Day -- otherwise known as "Free for All Day".
Waivers have been started, but any claims made prior to Opening Day -- which is Tuesday, March 25th -- will be reversed.
A day begins at 12:01am, by the clock in my living room (an atomic clock).
Now...time for sleep.
Well, just like most of ESPN believes we don't even need to play the game this year since Boston will just win the World Series; I also say we start drafting next year as the CBS Sportsline projections have returned the winner of the 2008 Auction League.
AND THE WINNER IS:
Hope everyone is ready!
Don't forget, the Auction is tomorrow -- March 14th at 9:15pm, Eastern Time.
For some reason the Sportsline site has it as tomorrow, at 4:00pm.
Why? I dunno. I am working with Sportsline to see why it says that...
Not sure on the date yet...However...
For the last few years, we have had to use FantasyAuctioneer.com for the auction, because Sportsline did not have an auction system set up.
Starting this year, they do! So our auction, at a date TBD, will be through Sportsline.
I expect some bugs, since this is their first go-around, but at least I don't have to load keepers into FantasyAuctioneer.com and then copy the auction results back to Sportsline.
