I guess you should discuss football in here.
The biggest event since last night's Stratford Junior Hockey Game! David Garrard! Brandon Meriweather! Johnny Knox! Who needs the Super Bowl when we have this!
Who do you think will win?
To all the members of the NYYFans FFL, I've run this league for 7 long years, and it's been a blast. Recently, however, I've found myself with more commitments and less time and motivation to devote to the league. I haven't been able to keep the league as lively and organized as I've liked, and to that end, I’ve had Bernie (OxDiesel) helping me as assistant commissioner, or ‘AssCom’ for the past few seasons. He’s taken more and more responsibility to the point where he has recently been...
We're down to the final four. Jets-Colts, Vikings-Saints. Have at it.
Who will win the game?
Dear Ralph Wilson, Owners who care fire bad coaches. Owners who care fire good, very good, or great coaches because they feel someone different would be good for their franchise. So while coaches like Mangini (good), Shanahan (very good to great), Gruden (very good) are getting canned for not doing well enough we extend a coach who had has one winning season in the NFL. We have been 21-27 in the last 3 years. While you are too cheap to hire a Shanahan, Gruden, or Cowher type, please...
Playoffs are set. What's your ideal Super Bowl? What's your nightmare Super Bowl? My ideal Super Bowl would be Patriots vs Green Bay. I think it would be a very good game. However I don't think New England is gonna get through the AFC, especially without Welker. My nightmare Super Bowl would be Indy vs Dallas or Philly. Those are my 3 least favorite teams in football. I guess as long as Indy, Dallas, Philly or Favre (sorry Vikings fans) doesn't win I'll be happy.
Arizona-New Orleans, Baltimore-Indianapolis on Saturday. Dallas-Minnesota, NY Jets-San Diego on Sunday. Some very interesting games here. I could easily see 2 or 3 road teams winning here. Arizona-New Orleans could be another wild offensive shootout. The way the Ravens played today---they will give the Colts fits. Dallas-Minnesota....wow....I dont even know where to go w/that game. Dallas is on fire right now, but I still like the Vikes D and the Favre/Peterson combo. Jets-SD will be...
http://sports.espn.go.com/chicago/nfl/news/story?id=4833908 Awful news. :(
For any fellow Madden-heads out there in NYYF land...I figured I'd start a new topic rather than hijack the NYG thread any further. If there's another Madden thread I missed somewhere, I'll pack my bags and go. :dunno: Anyway, I've been into this game for many years. Right now I'm still big into '09 (the Favre one) on Wii. Yeah, I have Wii, pretty much it's all I've got since my PS2 died on me. If it hadn't, I'd still be playing 06 on it, that was my favorite installment. So, currently I...
Just announced 5+ minutes ago on the radio.
Allegedly. So someone gets shot by a bullet from a gun that belongs to Marvin Harrison (after the victim has a disagreement with Marvin) and the next day Marvin has that gun on him and we aren't going to talk about it? http://www.profootballtalk.com/2008/05/03/more-details-on-harrison-incident/ Obviously details are still coming in and it could turn out to be nothing but I think we should treat this as if Marvin had been involved in "consensual horseplay" with a woman and hurt her...

An offensive guard and both OT spots will need to be addressed. As is CB and FS. Hopefully, the team allow Ellis Hobbs to walk. I'm convinced that even if Brady remained healthy, this team would never win another championship as long as Hobbs is starting. Yes, he's that bad. Obtaining a high draft pick is preferable to attaining a vain playoff run. Cassel is simply too INT prone to make a real SB run. Discuss. BTW, to those die hard Pats fans that disagree with this thread, the...
Jets,Pats,Eagles and Packers..............Jets-Bengals will be down to the wire.
And here we are. Another year. I just renewed the league at a cost of $149.99. I didn't want to go with CBS again, but when all is said and done, it's our best option. We just need to cross our fingers come draft night. Anyway, the cost works out to $12.50 per owner, but now we have to consider the trophy. Should we make it an even $20 charge and have $90 for a trophy (leftover donated to NYYFans.com), or make it $15 and have $30 for a cheaper trophy? Start throwing opinions out there,...
Football's back! :D I do wish tonight's game didn't conflict with the Yankees, but I'll still try and catch a few plays.
Sure, today really really sucked, and it will take a while for many of us (myself included) to get over it. :( But, we're a darn good football team, and this team gave us one heck of a 2008. We WILL be back in 2009, and hopefully we'll bring back Jacobs, let Gilbride go, and bring in a good WR and LB (either through the draft, free agency or both). So none the less, I am still proud to be a Giants fan, and go Giants (and I'll be sure to at least wear some sort of Giants garb tomorrow)!
This is my hometown league. We won the Super Bowl last season, so we had the 12th pick every round, in a 12 team league. We retain 18 keepers each season. We also combine TE/WRs. Anyway, here is my team's roster: QB Aaron Rogers QB Matt Ryan QB Mark Sanchez QB Mike Dog Killer Vick HB DeAngelo Williams HB Willie Parker HB Chris Brown
End the season on a good note. Here's to Eli piling up some stats. :gulp:
