I guess you should discuss football in here.
I haven't signed up for a fantasy football league, so I was wondering if anyone was interested in signing up for a last-minute one?

It's that time again... Today is June 1st, which means training camps are only 7 weeks away!!! League site on CBS has been updated with last season's archived results and statistics. I guess we can start the discussion with who's in, who's out, who wants on the waiting list and any personal issues we had during the season that can be improved. Here is the current draft order, pending any dropouts/rookies: 1. MightyHorse 2. Rabid Raiders

Now that Bret is a Jet what is George up to?
First & foremost, again, Congratulations to the New York Giants for the Super Bowl Victory. Although it was a GREAT win, it even added a little more pain for this Packer fan with a big What If. ;) Well, the way I look at is we had the youngest team in the NFL last year and the 2nd best team in the NFL by the time late January rolled around. There was no disgrace losing to a team like the 2007-2008 Giants. They had a memorable year; one of the greatest and most improbable seasons...
OK, the Budapest Devils are made up of mostly NYYFans Forumers. I figured it deserved a thread here. :gulp: If a Mod wants to move it elsewhere, so be it. I would appreciate if we only discuss Game results, future opponents, and NYYFans interested in becoming a contributing member to this budding Yankee-Like Dynasty that we're trying to build. (By "contributing" I'm NOT talking about money! If you want to contribute money, PLEASE contribute that to THIS site!!!) I only mean...
I know last year there were three games on Thanksgiving -- two on the regular channels, plus one on the NFL Network. The broadcast schedule for NFL Sunday Ticket for November shows right now that all three games are on the NFL Network (Ch. 212). Is this true? Is it the end of broadcast-TV NFL games on Thanksgiving? Or is the NFL Network claiming all three games for now, and will release two of them to broadcast-TV later?
Hopefully, I am not the only Colts fan on the board. Congrats again to the Giants for the SB win last season. I don't think I have ever enjoyed a non-Colt win as much as I did that one. Colts are starting TC with a few of the stars on the sidelines, but all are expected to be ready to go by game 1 of the season. To Saints for draft picks Giants Collective IQ jumps 20 points. Per Roto: The Giants have reportedly agreed to trade Jeremy Shockey to the Saints in exchange for second- and fifth-round picks. Shockey still must pass a physical.

What are the ramifications against the Packers' salary cap if: A) Farve stays retired B) Farve gets traded C) Farve gets released and signs with a new team
Where do you go on the web for info about specific teams, or about the league in general? Please share your links.
Mecca turned me on to this game thru his signature on his posts. We're on the same team and we just lost in the first round of the playoffs. Basically, it's completely free to play unless you choose to buy flex points. You name a player and build him training with certain skills and get signed on to a team. It's complete Geekness and I LOVE IT! It's like dungeons & dragons for Football Fans.   I have a couple buddies at work that checked it out and are now really...

http://www.nfl.com/videos?videoId=09000d5d80707252 Someone on another forum posted this. So NFL.com live streamed Strahan's retirement press conference but apparently they forgot to take out the stream so as of now one can watch the NFL network live with that link. Hopefully the NFL doesn't figure this out. :gulp:
http://chriscooley47.blogspot.com/ "Roger Goodell finally came out and said what my brother wrote about two months ago. He covers many of the same topics as Chris did stating that unproven players are over paid and that there is a flaw in the system. Looks like someone has been reading Shutdown Corner." "Goodell referred to Michigan tackle Jake Long's five-year, $57.75 million contract -- with $30 million guaranteed. Long was the first overall draft pick by the Miami Dolphins in April....
Which ones do all of you recommend? I picked up the Sporting News one (they've merged with Street & Smith's for those of you who don't know) and it is incredible. They've got 6 pages for each team and I would say it's a must-buy for football fans (seriously it is probably the best preview magazine I've ever bought and I buy around 15 a year for various sports ).
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...x.html?cnn=yes SAN DIEGO (AP) -- Charlie Jones, the deep-voiced sportscaster whose career as a play-by-play announcer dated to the beginning of the American Football League in 1960, has died. He was 77. Jones died of a massive heart attack Thursday at his home in the La Jolla district of San Diego, said his wife, Ann. Jones, who retired in the late 1990s, had been in poor health for several years, she said. Jones worked for ABC and NBC in a...

Kind of an informal poll of Yankee World, specifically for fans of the Giants or Jets, and when did it start. It is sort of a thing that I've just been wondering about, when did the Jet-Yankee combo really start coming up in earnest. Did it actually start after the Jets move to New Jersey in 1985? Or has it just been a significant portion of the Jet fan base, even going back to the days when the Jets shared Shea with the Mets? Are Giant fans still for the most part Yankee fans, or...
I heard on a Buffalo sports station about looking at this site and the 2005 NFL Draft grades. Thus I gave a look here are some gems: Lions Good Moves: Taking Mike Williams, the best player in the draft, was a great decision. All of the Lions' draft choices were great, especially DE/DT Shaun Cody in round two, CB Stanley Wilson in round three and Bill Swancutt in round six. Bad Moves: None. It's difficult to find any flaws with Detroit's draft picks. Baltimore: Good Moves: Yet...
