Interestingly enough my running partner was on a tear this morning about the women and their tiny little outfits. She was ranting and raving that it was demeaning to women (their volleyball bathing suits). She went on and on about it. Idk....is it me or is that not really a big deal....what they are wearing I mean......seems like there are a lot more serious issues in life to expend my energy on. :dunno:

Next time she wastes your time with that babble..you should trip her and keep running like nothing happened.. jk ;) :D

I have mixed feelings about it. The flight is a killer and I'm not the best traveler. All the venues are a fair distance away from one another and you have to spend about 30 minutes or more in a cab to get to most of them. I probably would've had to sightsee by myself. All that being said if he's fortunate enough to go again in 2012 I'M SO THERE!

I don't blame you - I would much rather go to London than Beijing. :)

I've been at a few AVP parties that she's been at. I'll have to go through my pictures and see what I can find. She truly is perky, funny and crazy.

That's great - they both always look like they're having fun out there - playing hard, yes, but actually enjoying what they do. I love to see that! :)

It's no worse than what the track and field women wear. Beach Volleyball is played ON THE BEACH...what are they supposed to wear? Do tell your partner it's not a big deal. Hell if I had a body like them I'd wear that outfit to the market, to the gas station, to the library.....:D

No kidding! Same here.

Thank you, but the actual statement is...

I. Was. Hawt.

Now, I'm just old!

And thanks to everyone else who liked the pic - I did have it going on back in the day, didn't I?

Sorry to hear your conference is boring. I used to love the social events after these things at my old job, but then again, I was usually the only woman with 12 guys, so... ;)

You are still hott! :D

I used to like this conference a lot more than I do now. There is so much debauchery going on. I can think of at least two marriages in the company that are over b/c of dalliances here every year. I think a lot of the sales reps come here just to hook up; there are also regularly escorts here etc. Yuck. I like seeing friends from far away I work with but that's it for my enjoyment.

Also Thursdays they have these excursions. I chose the race track (Monmouth) and actually came out ahead by about $150. :gulp:

Yikes - I thought my old office was bad, but I don't remember escorts being involved! Strippers, yes, but no escorts.

But coming out $150 ahead at the track works! :gulp:

Oh, and thanks for saying I'm still hott. :)

Misty is a riot. They showed a segment where she and Kerri went to the great wall of China and she is dancing a jig of some sorts and you can see bystanders looking at her like she's crazy.

Also when they won, she was mimicking the beach volleyball dancers moves on the court.

Hi ladies. Finally I am back home. But I am not feeling too great today. I kind of whooped it up a little too much last night but did not participate in any of the really hideous behavior. I heard this morning that two inside sales folks got fired on Thursday night for getting into a fist fight in the "poker room."

Holy crap, GR I did not know your man was w/the Olympic Team. That is so freaking cool! Congrats to them! :cheer:

Thanks -- we really have had lots of fun here, and I miss the NY point of view on life -- not really the baseball all that much!

This is also not a drive to have a "Come Back Litlle (or Big) Paiglee" campaign, either. Its just been on my mind and seeing Archer back, has given me a push to put my feet back in the pool, the one on the Lido deck that Archer does not have access to!

I'm just going for my usual 8-9 week refresh. I get highlights and lowlights as well as a base color. Then I get a glaze on everything. I've been pondering going a little shorter but I don't think I will. I have long layers/side bangs.

Yeah I really pushed it this time. I generally schedule my next appt while I am at the salon. I originally had one for two weeks ago but only time they had available with my stylist was @ 3PM which was too early. My stylist is the owner but she has limited hours since she has two small children.

I have a very busy schedule as I am getting ready for college, have to buy a lot of dorm acccessories and textbooks and have a very tight schedule. If I responded to you and Vicki then I would have to respond to every PM I received and it would not end. That's why I posted on the thread last night saying they were gone so that those who did PM me would know their status and other who wanted to know if they were still available need not PM me. This happened on another thread selling Yankee tickets, the seller said he won't be responding back to everyone who asked and there was no issue, so why is it here?

Actually there was an issue there. He was supposed to sell his tickets at face value and he didn't. It was also pretty lame that the people who responded first never got the tickets. I'm assuming he sold them to people who paid more than face value so who knows what happened to him behind the scenes......

Not to open the old can of eels so to speak ....the sox fan and why the hell are they here issue seemed to spill over like a too small bustier, into many places, including my beloved LOT, and call me sensitive, but I was getting that old Amish girl gets tattoo and multiple piercings getting shunned type of vibe...for many moons, JMHO:(

Speaking as the owner of a too-small bustier (see <---), I didn't think that you were the problem at all, and I feel bad you felt that way.

The reaction you received was normal considering you offered, then had at least 2 people say they were interested pretty soon after. Then after PMing you, they assumed they had gotten them. THEN you tell them you already gave them away because 8 other people had PMd you.

So, my guess is that this isn't the only forum you offered them on, but neglected to say that, or offer an apologetic PM in return.

Hildy - nits --- all I can think of is the Thorn Birds when Meggie's mother cut off all her hair....

Did they get them at camp or swimming pool - Shared towels. etc??

So, where is Archer??? Still in the pool??

Did you try olive oil? One of my mom's friends does lice treatment and that's what they use. I still can't believe that she goes to people's houses and picks bugs out of strange kids hair, but considering what the people in the area pay for it, it's a pretty sweet job .

Oy vey, Hildy. My niece had them while she was here visiting. We had no idea. My mom took her to get her hair cut and the stylist told her. She was mortified. They did the whole cleaning of the house, washing all her toys and bed linens etc. We all felt very itchy ourselves afterwards since she is very into cuddling etc so we were afraid the lice crawled over or something. We think she had them when she arrived from CO.

Karen - great post! :)

Hildy - sorry to hear about the nits. I was looking for Thicker Fuller Hair shampoo for JP (which apparently is no longer made or sold in NY), and I noticed the nit removal shampoos were almost all gone - I figured everyone was getting ready for school, because no one wants to be the kid sent home due to nits! I have no personal experience, but the kids in Florida had them one year, what a PITA.\

Oh, and Patrick Swayze works too! ;)

Kim - that is a bizarre job for sure...one of those things that make you wonder why someone would decide to do it!

Well let's hope for a nice peaceful LOT day today! :)

I have no freakin' clue. We (the hosts) started working on the shower thing, and then the bride started switchin stuff up on us about things. So now I don't freakin know. I should just be a prick and wear black..

I WISH it would coordinate with the wedding colors! Blue/silvers :D

She's like " pink is the main color of the shower (umm showers have colors? WTF?), it would be cool if you could wear pink too. But if not, its ok."

F*cken guilt trips man...

I can see showers having colors, but isn't that for the people giving it to decide? If you decided to wear pink to match (yes, I've done that  ), that's one thing, but she shouldn't tell you to or heavily suggest it!

Crazy - any shower I've ever been to has been the same colors as the wedding, or close to it (mine wasn't navy blue, but everything was blue). A friend of mine planned her own shower (with my help as her MOH) - I should find a pic of what she wore to "coordinate" - you never saw an outfit like this in your life! My mom asked me why did she really want to look like a hooker at her bridal shower! Now in fairness, I suggested where to have mine, but that's because JP mentioned the girls were arguing about it and everyone was dragging their feet due to lack of funds, so I said his mom's house would be perfect and that's what they did, but that's where my input began and ended, and I had no clue when or where it was going to be till it happened!

I think the pink shower thing is taking hold in Cal.....I hate to admit this, but......

I saw the same thing on Tori and Dean....all the girls wore pink to the shower for pictures, etc....

It's supposed to be some sot of girly-girl feminista bonding ritual, I guess.....

I actually like pink, but on my husband. I buy him Pink Polo Shirts and dress shirts. Since he is the same build as an Offensive Lineman in football -- no one says anything to him, but it is sometimes difficult to find the shirts.

No pink, and no dressing on demand for a shower--isn't it the bride's job to show up and say oooo and ahhhh and thank you very much? (That could be the wedding night, I get confused.)

Nits are all gone (Those are the eggs, not the actual crawly critters) we hope. THere is a professional nit picker in our area who gets $100/hour to pick. Yikes!

So,for the first time in about 20 years I wore an actual two piece bathing suit to the beach (as in one that is not a tankini). My stomach is still in shock.
And I like the look of those boy cut shorts, but they do tend to creep up.
