Absolutely. I already had you in mind. :)
Thanks. I can't believe I let myself get locked out:eek:
Of course. Me, you, Vicki, Ally, Dawn, Dong, Kim, and Danielle. And I'm fairly confident in my ticket maneuvering skills and expect to find a ticket for Trish.
That's good! I hope you are able to get a ticket for Trish. :)
I have not yet met Ally and Danielle. Looking forward to that. :)

Aw, me too! :D
Uch my sunburned areas are starting to ITCH. What a dope I am. I wore 30 SPF sunscreen too but was sort of lazy about re-applying since I wanted to get a little bit of sun.
Dawn, the Amalfi coast? Wow! I also totally get what a PITA a group vacation can be. Some of us have been going to the Florida Keys camping for years but the trip just kept getting bigger and bigger (mostly with his friends) and sort of not fun anymore IMO. So last year just he and I went to Florida and on a short "starter cruise" (since we had never been on one) and had a blast. But now he wants to see if some of the aforementioned Keys trip people now want to go on a cruise and I am not sure how I feel about it. :(
I agree smaller groups are better for trips.
We're going to Myrtle Beach with my husband's mom/dad, sister/brother in law, their 2 kids plus one of the boy's friends. Plus, my daughter is bringing a friend. That's 12 of us.
We have our own RV and my father in law has one, so the ride down we'll be split up, but once we're there, it'll be a pain trying to do things we want to do.

I hope those of you going to the LOT game have a great time! I so wish I could be there. I'm still hoping bunches of you will be at the 9/12 game (I know it's 5 months away, but still... ), so that I can finally meet some of the people who have been there for me and brought me so many smiles through an Internet message board! :)

Hi Ladies....Linda, I forgot to send you the check before I left for St. Louis. You know I'm good for it though. :D
I'm still good for the game. Can't wait :D. Gonna figure out what to do about the train coming home... but I'm going with my dad in a few weeks to an evening mid-week game so I'll figure it out then. Can't wait to see everyone :).
Danielle, that's pretty much exactly happened to me when I got sunburnt in Florida . I'm glad you had a nice time on your trip though. I'm going to a convention with my sister in July in Austin, but then that'll be it for at least a year.

What are you doing in St. Louis? I've only been there once, and the hotel had bedbugs as I discovered to my dismay. It was a nice hotel, too.

Morning all. :)
Kim, what kind of convention are you going to? I've always heard Austin is nice. My company is opening a regional office there and I was semi-tempted to transfer until I found out who some of the other people were who were going.:o Gee I'm so nice. :-whistle- Also, BTW I am taking the train the night of the LOT game.
I have now entered the joyous peeling stage of my sunburn, including my face. I always moisturize a lot but even amping it up is not helping too much.
Karen, I just found out that I may be going to Myrtle Beach in the fall. My boyfriend's sister is renting a condo for the whole month of September (she got a really good deal from a friend) so we may go for a long weekend or something. But yeah, I feel like I am done with the big group camping thing. My boyfriend's RV needs to be retired, I call it the Beverly Hillbilliesmobile, it's old and has many, many issues. So I told him I'm retiring from it. But when we go to the Keys I always rent a car so I can get out and do my thing and get away from everyone.

I am a gentleman so I am going to ask the ladies first.. I have a ticket I can;t use to the baltimore game for Sunday, I paid 160 for the ticket it is about 8 rows back of the Yankee dugout it also gets you in early and up and close with the players if you get in early.. the face value is 48 make me an offer, this game is sold out as they usually are.... I live in delaware so the major problem will be getting the ticket to some of you, I know some are in NJ so I might be able to meet up or send it overnight, I was going to hope the game got rained out..Im gonna do a little rain dance..and see if that works

It's a political thing. But it should be fun and we're definitely going to party at night :D. And  to not going because of people you don't like. I'd totally do the same.
Good to know about the train too, though I take a slightly different line. I just want to make sure that I get the timing right to make the last train, since I hate missing any of the game -- but like I said, I'm going with my dad in a couple of weeks and he's the type that won't miss a second, even in a blowout .

Oh man, his is an '85 or '86 Leisure Craft and I call it the "Loser Craft." :o It's a class C(?)--the kind with a bed on top of the cab in the front and I think it's about 24' long. Some of the siding flew off and he never replaced it. It has leaks in various areas. The toilet has issues. :barf: I am not being a spoiled princess either. I really want to visit Charleston. My friend, the history nerd, says it's a really cool city.
It's the best place I've ever lived, and I've lived in a lot of places having spent 20 years in the military. It's got a little bit of everything and the people here for the most part are friendly and polite. As far as history...well some of the buildings downtown have been around since the early 1700's and we have the oldest museum in the country.
There are restaurants, nightlife, lots of young people (there's the College of Charleston just mins from downtown). We have a minor league hockey team (ECHL South Carolina Stingrays) and a minor league baseball team (the Charleston Riverdogs affiliated with the Yankees). There's lots of recreation and great beaches.
The only things I don't like about here is the hurricane threat, the way they drive, the stifling heat/humidity in Jul/Aug and the bugs. However, I guess you gotta take the bad with the good.

I may have missed b/c I haven't been online much in the past 4 days or so, did you decide if mom and dad are coming out here in Sept. or just dad? And any luck with flights/hotel? Or are you waiting 'till it gets closer?
You should have lots of fun!!I think it'll probably just be me and my dad, but I'm not positive yet. I found a couple decently priced hotels, but I'm trying to save up a bit before I reserve one of them. I should be doing that soon. I'm still going to look around a bit more, as well. I may see what I can get on Priceline, as well. :)

Me, three. Got my ticket! Thanks Linda.
I freaked out a little bit b/c the name was throwing me and I saw the Animal Hospital underneath the address label and I thought Ollie's original owners found me... I am a paranoid one.
I have some updated pix of Ollie if anyone wants to see - they are at:
http://s134.photobucket.com/albums/q116/nyydme/OllieApril2008/?albumview=slideshow :D
I spent almost all weekend in the garden making flower beds, planting and mulching. I was one sore chickee. Got a stupendous massage on Sunday. A deep tissue, kick your ass one. It was fabulous. Completely detoxifying. Haven't had one like that in ages. Aaah.
What's everyone else up to ?
I wuv the pictures! :D What a face he has!
I should be picking up around the house etc but I'm not. I just got my hair done and it looks much more normal now. The "vibrant red" toned down a bit so things are back normal.

Hey y'all. As for paying me for tickets, I don't really care when you do it. Send a check, pay me at the game, whatever. Danielle, I'll be at the May 4 game so that's fine too.
Jenn, if you found a good hotel rate, you should go ahead and book it. Book a couple if you're not sure. There's no penalty for canceling if you're going directly through the hotel and if you found a rate from a third party, you can call the hotel and tell them and they will usually honor that rate without any committment.
Trish, I'm going to try for a $5 ticket for you when I go to the May 1 game.
I had my hair trimmed last night and I ordered 7 burgundy extensions to put in next time I go. I'm psyched. They'll last for 3 months or I can take them out whenever I choose and they can be used again and again. Groovy cool.

When is the game?? I will watch it on the baseball package, and look for you.
I have the dreaded Boston Flu, I held out for weeks but its here now. My husband and daughter were both down for two weeks - my husband was shocked when I told him I did not feel well two days in a row - he said "You were sick yesterday....." Lucky for him I was not near any sharp items....
Finally turning into Spring here --

The extensions sound cool - I've never had them and I don't know if they'd work with my hair or look odd (my hair is very fine, so I don't know if they'd blend in with the overall hair or just stick out like sore thumbs), but let us know how it goes!

Yes. We did one two years ago in New Rochelle and the one we did today was in Rye. Both times I was surprised by how nice the neighborhood was that the houses were in. But the house in New Rochelle was destroyed by a fire and the one in Rye was in a dilapitated state. Both houses are owned by elderly people.

As for shoes, I don't have many. The most I've ever paid for any pair is about $85 or $90 (New Balance, when I used to jog/run), plus tax. I actually still have those shoes but they're so worn out. That was about 5 or 6 years ago, too, that I bought them. Besides that, the most I've spent is for the Nike Airs I bought about a month ago, about $65 (on sale). Even my wedding heels were only $55, I think. They're in my closet and there's no way they'll ever be worn again. 3 3/4" heels are not my friends; my feet were in so much pain.
I'm not a shoe/shopping person in general. :dunno:

Canada Geese are like the pigeons of the country/suburbs in the NE.
We have a problem in our little town with very aggressive wild turkeys, and not the kind in a bottle.
One poor woman stopped to let a group pass, and the male spread his feathers and attacked her car!!
Even a local coyote pack at the Golf Course has not cut down the turkey population. The coyotes are probably scared of the turkeys. They are very, very big.
Shoes - I go for comfort these days, but back in the olden days I did pay $$$$ ($200ish) for a red leather pair of Charles Jourdan stilleto CFM shoes. I don't think 1., I could get my post childbirth feet into them; and 2. Definitely would fall and break my hip!!

Hey Karen - Ollie (aka "The Walking Disaster") is doing good. His biopsy scar is healing really well - don't even think you'll be able to tell once his hair grows back.
He is a regular at the vet (seriously) b/c he manages to get in all sorts of trouble.
The little booger makes me laugh on a daily basis.
I even think the cat situation is coming along. He actually goes into his kennel when I bring her downstairs (I never tell him to - he's never been punished into his crate). I was shocked ... :-).
Danielle - that's so cute with the geese. We have some kiwis running around right now, too. They nest under a chair in the courtyard at work every year. They are sooo adorable. And then they grow up :D
Umm the shoes. I think my most exp shoes were my Ecco maryjanes - at $140 ... and I wear them.
So you are saying you collect sneakers and don't really wear them? I

There are tons of turkeys in my neighborhood, I live on the C line so it's not like I'm out in the suburbs. Very strange. They are very aggressive, I see packs of ten+ of them quite often, it'd be a major problem if they were in your yard or blocking your car or something.

They had a problem with one in Wallingford at the post office's sorting center a few years back. The news paper said that the turkey's get agressive because people feed them, they start to expect it and then get mad when they don't get food. They had to remove the turkey but now there's a flock that hang around the side of the high way but don't get to close to cars.

There was an aggressive turkey incident in Cranford a couple of years ago. My parents have them in their yard a lot. They claim that one only has one leg!

I have a lot of shoes, but most of them aren't expensive - I go for quantity over quality most of the time, but I hang onto them for a long time because no one pair gets worn that much! But they do all get worn - I cannot imagine buying shoes and not wearing them!
Glad to hear Ollie is doing better. :)
We have no wild turkeys or geese in my neighborhood, thankfully - you'd think we might with the parkway grass right across the street, but they all seem to live in office parks on Long Island, I don't know why, but it's OK - geese would just be one more thing for Bucky to bark at!

Danielle, you mentioned wild turkeys in Cranford... is that where you are or where your parents are? Because that's where the theater company is for the show I'm doing. Never really knew anything about the area, but it seems decent enough.

No neither my parents nor I live in Cranford but my cousin does. It really is a nice area. Westfield, its neighbor, is a cute town too. I think the Cranford turkey story was in the local newspaper and that is how I knew about it.
My parents have them in their yard in Green Brook, they are on the north side of Rte. 22 and there is a red fox running around their 'hood as well.

Yeah, but usually it's cap day for me. I've gotten several over the years--Hess, Verizon, some other companies. I always lose them or they get covered in cat hair or something. I am not a good :NY: hat keeper. I have one of those bucket hats too that I tried to use a pin collecting hat but I did not keep up with that at all...:o

I don't really wear them, but it's still nice to get a giveaway. JP has a pin collecting hat, actually he has several now because the original got so heavy it was uncomfortable, so we put most of the pins on some of the old hats I have hanging up in the TV room and he has just a few on the actual wearing hat.

I LOVE Cap Day/Cap Night. I also purposely picked a game that I took a friend to for her birthday a few years back becaues it was visor night . I really love giveaways. But I'm a big dork like that.
All of my busy-ness killed my voice. Can't talk at all today and I'm going to the doctor in a few :(. No idea if it's a cold or allergies, but it's been getting worse by the week so now I have to get everything checked out.
Has anyone gone out with Roger Clemens during his Yankee tenure?

Yeah I am a dork too. A few years ago it was knit cap day and I got SO mad @ my boyfriend for dawdling w/a cigarette before we went in and they ran out of the hats! I really wanted one of those too. :o It was not a really common giveaway.

Why yes it is, for the first 18,000 fans--no age specified. :)
Usually the promos on Sundays when I have my tickets are for 14 & under so I rarely get anything.

Yeah, most of the giveaways have been for 14 and under when we've gone too.
Now my daughter is 16 so she can't get the freebies for kids and she's too young to get the adult ones. So we'd have to go when they are for all fans if she wanted something.

I went last night. Rained nearly the entire game and way cold. Weather sucked, team sucked, Stadium chock full of Tigers fans. Not a lot of fun. On the bright side, had good company (StaceyRosie for those of you that have been around a while) and the drunk drunk drunk guys next to us when we moved up under the roof were hysterical. Three guys brought brooms and about the seventh inning or so they were waving them around and cheering pretty loudly. A Yankee fan too the brooms away from them, broke them in half, tossed them over the tier rail then calmly allowed himself to be arrested. Outside of the Sox games, I don't think I've ever seen so many obnoxious fans of the other team at a game. But the Stadium was really empty so maybe they were just more noticable than usual.

Our seats at Giants stadium are in the lower tier right under the front of the mezzanine section and sometimes drinks and stuff fall down near us. Security usually gets in a snit, all mad that it happened, but I don't know if they've ever actually gone up to the mezz. to see who did it.

There was no talking her out of it. It looks fine on her though, not too short. And she's got great legs, and right now her hair is dark. (She dyes it about every two weeks:lol: ) She also has extensions, so it's very long too. She's really stunning.

Good grief! Why do the lucky tall ones hate being tall? My older sister is 5'9", as well, and the youngest probably will be, also. (They're also the ones who can eat all day and remain stick figures, but don't get me started on that. ) The older one always hated her height because she felt gawky, and couldn't wear heels. She's gotten used to it now, though, and she married a guy who's about 6'3" or something, so it all worked out. Of course with 3 little boys, she doesn't wear heels too often these days, anyway.

She got it in aqua. Then we found some pretty silver heels. I tried to talk her out of the heels, since she's not used to it, and she's going to be gigantic. She's 5'9", and she has to be 6' tall with these things:lol: Plus, her feet are going to kill her.
Oh well, I guess she'll just take them off.
That is a very cute dress!

Why yes it is, for the first 18,000 fans--no age specified. :)
Usually the promos on Sundays when I have my tickets are for 14 & under so I rarely get anything.
When we had the Sunday plan and they had all those 14 and under giveaways, JP used to always ask "what 14 year old buys his own ticket?" The bats and stuffed animals didn't bother us that much (although I would have taken a stuffed animal any time), ut when they had mouse pad day for 14 and under, that really annoyed us!

Vicki I am having similar blah thoughts about Sunday's game since it is supposed to rain. :(
I know, I'm almost hoping it pours - we only have tickets to 2 games so far this year (3 counting the LOT) and so not going isn't an option, but I'm not looking forward to sitting in the cold and rain.

My nephew calls me "Aiiiiiee", which is pretty good, considering he's not a big talker.

Yikes, me too, hence my love for Thermacare heat-wraps.
I used to have a 'script' for NaProxen, mine were so bad. Therma-care was soooooo far in the 'future'...:D Had to schelp the heating pad around... :D

Huh, I didn't realize it wasn't available OTC until 1994. Weird.

Unfortunately it doesn't do anything for me. Neither do Tylenol or aspirin. Ibuprofen fortunately helps cramping and headaches.

I remember when it was not OTC and I had a scrip for it too but always found ibupofen more effective. Now I just take OTC but need to take like, four at a time..:o

That's very cute. My dress for Shannen's Sweet 16 had that kind of hemline (not that short, just the way it goes under and kind of balloons). I guess it's the new thing.
Yeah, I'm sure she'll take the shoes off. :)
The dress is way cute. I'm trying not to think back to when I could've gotten away with wearing something like that. Too depressing.
I bet she'll look really pretty. My youngest sister had her junior prom a week or two ago, and she looked so cute. You'll have to show us pictures. :)
It's the same thing as people with curly hair wishing it was straight and vice versa.
Although, I am very content being only 5'4. All my tall friends were taller than a lot of guys and hated their size 10 or 11 feet.
I've also come to appreciate my wavy hair.

I am mostly happy with my curly hair, I'm fine with my height, and right now I need a little less in the bewb department, but hopefully if I can drop some weight, it'll take care of that
These things are scary at this point:eek:

NO FREAKING WAY!I have shopping issues lately. Can't buy one shoe for $40. So I have stayed away from the shops.
The probelm with expensive shoes (orthopedicly correct without looking like an old lady) once you have them you can't go back. I tell myself I will buy one really good pair a year and forget the cost. Now, it is every 6 months.:(

A friend of mine told me about a great shoe place called Plazatoo. I'm going to check it out today (online). Will report back if it's any good.
Stopping in for a brief moment of my recent insanity. First weekend of my show is over along with The Week from Hell. My cold/flu/allergy thing is also improving and my voice has returned (thanks to tea and Claritin).
And next week, the only thing I have to do (besides work) until the next show on Friday is go to the Yankee game with my dad :D. I'm much looking forward to it.
Hi Kim.
Any further info on the missing silverware?

Unfortunately no. He also took some of my other roommates stuff as well and they aren't very happy about it. Luckily, the guys are going to take care of it and I don't really have to worry. I'll still be unhappy if I don't get it back but at least I don't have to deal with the headache of dealing with this guy directly.

Glad to see you are feeling a little better and  to your show!
Speaking of shoes, last week I bought a pair of 3" black "Kork-Ease" sandals and so far they are pretty comfortable; they were a little bit on the pricey side but I think I will get a lot of wear out of them. :)
Other than that? Blah...Monday.

Love that Jessica McClintock dress, but I have to laugh b/c Jessica was all the rage when we were in high school, but it was this lacey, puffy-sleeved "Little House on the Prairie" Sh*t that nobody would be caught dead in now.
I am 5'6" and would love to be 2 inches taller. Fine with everything else. Except my eyes. I'd like eyes that actually work.

Yes! Yes they do! Online I know Zappos has them and also the Sundance catalog. I think they may alse be available @ Nordstrom. I ordered mine from Sundance because I had a coupon. I remember way back when so many girls had the sort of buff color in school. I had knock-offs from Kinney or Thom Mcan or something.
And yes, Hildy I too remember the Jessica M being that frilly girly stuff. Bleh. Of course THEN I had several items from that line...:o

Gunne Sax or something like that, was the Jessica McClintock line that was prairie looking.
Edit: Yup, I remembered correctly. For a change.
